i would say my biggest tip would be, be prepared for a emotional journey, i thought id instantly love my boobs, but i was so wrong i hated them at first and at 11 days post opp i couldnt stop crying and wanted to rip them off, after my emotional break down i really started to love them more and more each day, you get prepared for the physical aspects of ba but no one tells you about the emotional rollacoster you may go on, remember how they look for the first few weeks is nothing like the final out come so be patient xx

Couldn’t have put it better myself Nikki…i had post op blues so bad, i also expected too much too soon and i sent my self stupid to the point i hit rock bottom at one point! Its such an emotional rollercoaster, so many of the girls on this forum seemed to love there boobs straight away and i expected the same!

I had an uplift with implants and although i did lots of research and looked at lots of pictures i only looked at pics of scars, and didn’t look at any where the incisions were scabbed over and still in the process of healing, i wasn’t prepared at all for what i saw when the dressings first came off and wish i had been – although i have to say my scars have healed great! I think we also have to remember everyone is different, we all have different pain thresholds and recovery times! Having said that i’m still glad i went ahead!

Just wanted to add that this forum had been a godsend…i was off work 6 weeks in all after my op and talking to the girls on here in that time was such a great help – the support and encouragement when i was so low was fantastic so thanks to everyone who helped me xxx

    Car Travel

I recommend (especially for uplift girls) having a cushion between you and the seatbelt when travelling in the car for the 1st week or so. I found it a much more comfortable journey home after my op just knowing I had that little bit of extra cushioning incase of any sudden stops.

You need a lot of patience ladies!! For me the hardest thing has been not over-doing it each day and dealing with putting on a bit of weight! I am paranoid about gaining weight so I’ve really struggled but just keep telling yourself those extra pounds will go eventually! :) I’m five weeks post op now and am absolutely loving my new additions :) but I think, as Nikki and Jo have said, be patient as they might not look like you expect AT FIRST. That’s why they say the recovery period is six weeks!

    Good luck xxx

There’s a fun little Post-op Quiz started by @thunderkissx which has had quite a few responses, definitely worth looking into x

Take a sports drink bottle. I made up a cold lemon the night before had it in fridge as it was good to sip on after the OP and car journey home and also good at night time to take a quick pain killer if needed! :-)
