    Hi Girls!

I’ve been wanting to have a BA for ages now, but my credit rating is very poor. Just wondered if anybody could give me some advice? I can’t get a garantor either!! I assume Mya’s finance company do credit checks etc?

    Thanks in advance!

I’m not sure about checks, they use first medical loans so you could always try them. Might be easier if you have a bit saved up and finance is for less.

Otherwise a credit union will let you borrow up to 3 times your savings if you save regular with them – maybe another option.

    Hiya,

I wanted to use them because i had nothing but my credit was bad and they said i needed a joint guarantor, to help get the money i took a second job. They do also do 12 months interest free for part of the money as well. They look for you to have a full time job though so you may be fine as long as you have that.

Thanks Pauline! Maybe saving is the best option!

    Hi Nikki87!

Yeh, i thought they’d suggest that! Im a full-time mum atm, looking to get a p/t job tho! Hubby works full-time- but his credit rating is worse than mine! Prob just try and save! Take ages i bet! Are you booked in now then?

I took some of mine over 12 months interest free with them. They asked for my husbands wage slips and a bank statement (think to prove address). Might be worth a try?

    Hey

yeh im booked in for the 12th Nov Dr Singh, what worked for me was paying the deposit because once you’ve handed over the £500 you have to find the rest 20days before your surgery date. This influenced me to work my butt off, i suppose if you’ve got nothing booked there not so much of an urgency to save so i booked.

    hey hun,

they do credit checks…. i no this as I have bad credit and they needed my partner to be a guarentor….they didnt want wage slips or anything though. I paid 2500 and they lent me the rest interest free to pay back within 12mths xx

Hey, they do credit checks and that was one of my main reasons I couldn’t have it done because my credit is not good at all and I only work part time as I have a 2yr old, I managed to save 1000 borrow 950 of my dad and lend 2000 interset free with mya with my dad being my garentor, I’m having my BA on 25th oct. I hope u mangage to sort the money out, I know how frustrating it is when u want something so bad and things get in the way, I’ve wanted this done since I was 15, I’m 23 now so its taken me quite a few yrs lol. U will get there in the end, good luck xx

I’ve got bad credit and First Medical Loans wouldn’t even consider an application until you’re 25, I’m self employed and they wouldn’t allow that either. Both situations I HAD to have a guarantor., which I couldn’t get.

I was told that a MYA loan were slightly more lenient and would loan upto 1200 interest free – agsin though, I was declined due to bad credit.

This was about 2 months ago and since then I have saved & saved & worked my arse off – it did help that I booked my surgery for 11 weeks later as it then pushed me into working really hard.

Hope you manage to get the money – it is really really frustrating, i’ve wanted mine for about 8 years and only recently been in a financial situation to afford it, good luck :)

Do you no if you can book surgery now for next Oct/Nov next year, and pay deposit now and pay rest before the surgery coz i want it booked so i have something to work for next year?? xx

    Hi Emily2010!

Thanks for your reply. Same here-unable to get a guarantor!

Yes, i was told they can set up a 12 month interest free loan without credit checks if u can get 2500 together?? So you got declined for that then? I was hoping that would be my option!

Good on ya for working so hard to get it! I cant do that as the hubby works whilst i stay home with the kids!! I’m just gonna save, and hopefully have it done one day!!

When’s ur op? bet ur really excited now?

Yep that was the way it was made out to me but it didn’t work out like that – the credit check was just slightly more lenient.. and I still failed it, my credit is terrible..!!

My op is the 1st November, 1 week and 5 days – I can’t wait although I do have lots of questions going over in my head lol, just gonna have to wait it out tho x

We saved just £250 a month for just over a year and now have enough money for the op and new clothes etc, it’s worth waiting and saves the worry of having bad credit rating.
