really unhappy with MYA not only did I have a terrible time pre op with appointments getting cancelled last second 5 times or doing the hour drive to the clinic to be told my appointment has been cancelled then traveling miles to get bloods taken just a couple of days before my op and the day of surgery my blood results were not even in my notes
now post op its a joke had sore area with my TT stitches which was rubbing and the scar not closing due to it so I spoke to the nurse over the phone who said she needed to see it so gave me a time and date which I wrote in my diary straight away, so I take half the day off with my partner to drive back to Manchester clinic to be told yet again the nurse has gone home and I wasnt wrote in the diary so I was seen by a diff surgeon which I felt he didnt want to treat it as I wasnt his patient which you can understand! anyway it caused me no sleep that night so I had to take the stitch out myself in the end and it has been great since. I was due to see my surgeon last week for the 1st time since my op as its been about 8/9 weeks the appointment was made 8 weeks ago and they wrote it on a card which I still have but I thought given MYA’s past reputation I will phone them on the day before driving the hour there again and when I phone up I get told we have nothing down for you and who made your appointment?? well I have it wrote down by them!! then i was told I dont need to see my surgeon anyway a nurse is fine post op??? £9,000 they have had off me and I am not going over the top when I say how many times they have cost me a days wage and all the fuel from appointments they mess up on and this is after they gave me the wrong hospital for my op and I only found out last minute my me getting them to check my notes or I would of gone to the wrong hospital for my op!! its a joke MYA ive sent emails off and had no reply and this is how you treat customers after they spend £9,000?? dont get me wrong the surgeons are amazing such a shame I cant say the same for MYA!
That is unbelievable. You poor thing. My heart goes out to you. You should definately keep on at them for an explanation because for the price you paid them you expect much better service.
I don’t have my first consultation till the end of the month and I will be making a 2 hour journey for it so I think I’ll be ringing up the day before to make sure I’m booked in now after reading this.

I’ve only had my consultation with the surgeon haven’t booked yet…but having bad experience with them not ringing me when they should, but at inappropriate times when I’ve said I’m not available – therefore can’t speak to them til like Monday evening now when I need to ask some questions asap!!
Also, they had me down for a BA when I clearly don’t need one and have got a ghastly nose on my face which I came to see about haha 
Checked me in in a different name…so missed my turn and had to wait after they dug my file out! 
I seriously need to speak about finance asap as I want to book!! But they’re being useless!!

I dont think its all of MYA but Manchester clinic need to sort themselves out. the surgeons are great, really amazing but after having a TT and BA and them telling me now I can just come in to see a nurse (who prob wont be there again anyway) is not good enough by far

that made me laugh is that at Manchester?? I am self employed and I dont seem to forget to put people in my diary when they call me and its a good job you have got it sorted which bit they are operating on or you could wake up with airbags fitted as standard
you will have no problem with the surgeons at all they really are the best although I think I have forgot what mine looks like!! I mean you would hope to get to see your surgeon after a TT and a BA wouldnt you? I would like to just say they take your money and then dont care but I had massive probs pre op so that should of been my warning

I can completely see where your coming from, the disorganisation amongst the staff is incredible, there is no continuity, the right hand doesnt know what the left hand is doing. I am also with the manchester branch and i would honestly say that unless somthing is done about communication and time keeping of appointments, returning calls to patients when they say they will, etc, its goin to seriously damage their reputation. Im not sayin all the staff are to be tarred with this brush cos ive had a some who have im sure done the best they could, but when your not working as a team its not enough. Mya mod, maybe if you are reading all these posts regarding these very similar issues, you could bring it to their attention? There are many posts like the one above ive noticed, Hope you get sorted cazdsa x

Yes I think the problem is that the workers’ job there is to get us to book and pay and once they’ve done that – a weights lifted off their shoulders and sadly they lose focus on us then…and concentrate on sorting out the newbies – but don’t they realise they need to TAKE CARE of the existing patients who are going through a really traumatic time and need reassurance and help from them!!?
The surgeons jobs are to perform the surgery and check we’re working properly afterwards – and the rest is down to the workers! So it’s sad most of them are scatty and useless!

thank you for your email to confirm that I am going to the Rochdale hospital. I do appreciate the fact you have cleared the £300 I had left to pay on my account but I would of preferred to of had the confidence in MYA and paid the £300 myself as when you have paid £9000 out you expect to have good service and confidence.
I totally understand that you have 3 northern hospitals and surgery could get moved about but the fact that if I never of said that this will be a good test run for the day of my op I dont think id of known it was changed! kayleigh didnt even realise it said first trust preston in my patient file until I asked her to check it. (I think I could of actually turned up at the wrong hospital) he had already set the sat nav up for preston.
Again I do understand the nurse problems for pre ops but I do think that MYA need to contact us a little earlier than an hour before appointment times to let us know appointments are not going ahead as I have had my appointments changed and cancelled 4 times which has cost me so much in wages for me and my partner and nursery fees/baby sitters. not to mention my pupils getting messed about.
Kayleigh was great taking us to preston to have my bloods done which correct me if I am wrong but I thought you said the blood spinning machine was not taken to Liverpool so thats why the change of area? when we arrived at Preston we didnt see a pre op nurse but she could do my blood and MRSA which she was amazing and so lovely
I did think B/P weight ect should be done on a pre op but I know this will be done on the day of my op anyway so thats ok. bloods were not spun at Preston they were handed to Kayleigh to take to manchester the next day.
its just little things that are making things not good customer relations with MYA apart from all the above like being told a nurse would call me the next day incase I have any questions and 3 days later nothing! I dont have any questions but this all worries me for what the aftercare will be like 
I was given pre operative information on tuesday suggesting that I do Abdominal excersises to strenghen muscles before the operation but I dont think I will be able to do much about that at this stage
think this is something else that should of been said a little sooner 
Im sorry to keep going on but I have spent and lost lots of money here and I really dont have any confidence in MYA and this is a massive thing

I don’t know if you will remember me with all the problems I had pre- op and having to travel to Leeds a couple of days before my op to get bloods done in time? I was really hoping that all the problems were over and I wouldn’t have to contact you again but i’m so unhappy and angry at the continuing bad practice of MYA.
I have not faults with the surgery its self, amazing surgeon but Manchester MYA is a joke and needs to be addressed.
When I went to Leeds to have bloods taken it was for the reasoning of needing bloods to get spun and after going all that way they were handed back to Kayleigh to take back to Manchester to be spun yet on the day of my surgery my blood results were not in my file so caused a delay (I take it they must of been tracked down or the op would not of gone ahead) then the nurses side of it has been poor post op like when my stitches were causing problems and a hole not closing over the phone one nurse was telling me to put steri strips on myself and to bath as this would help the stitches to close yet your other nurse telling me i shouldn’t be doing it myself and I shouldn’t be taking a bath only a shower. anyway I spoke to a nurse in Manchester over the phone as I had a large stitch poking over my scar which was causing pain and it was red as it was catching, she told me to come in on the Friday so she could take a look so arranged for me to see her FRIDAY 20TH JAN AT 5.45 so I finished work half day and my partner took the evening off and we drove the 50 minute drive to Manchester just to be told there was no nurse in and she hasn’t wrote it in the diary. Kayleigh said I could get the surgeon that was in to take a look but my opinion when he had a look was I wasn’t his patient so didn’t want to give any treatment to me. so I went home and it was really causing me problems and keeping me awake as the area around it was sore so I took action and got it out myself and its been great since but no phone call off MYA nurses to say sorry for the wasted journey again (i should be used to it) so that brings me to today which iv’e had my appointment booked for 8 weeks to see mr Traynor for the 1st time since my op but I thought giving MYA’s past reputation I am going to call to make sure everythings all ok before wasting more fuel and what I am told yet again is theres nothing in the diary for me and who made your appointment?? that was after her 1st reaction was have you not had a phone call to say Mr Traynor is not in clinic tonight? so she was trying to cover something but then tells me I’m not even in the diary! I understand that sometimes surgeons may get problems and may not be doing clinics but no phone calls again and I’ve took most of the day and all evening off again as to has my partner! now I have proof of my appointment which was wrote down for me and you know yourself this is not the 1st,2nd,3rd,4th or 5th time this has happened now and its cost me today alone just my wages £120 (today only) so you can see why i’m ready to take action now as this is not good enough by any means and I don’t like the way I have just been told I don’t need to see my surgeon post op and that seeing a nurse tomorrow would be enough!! no not at all I am not taking more time off to see a nurse when I want to see my surgeon
You don’t need any of that hassle and surely they should do something to make it up to you – it’s not fair for you to have such a bad experience when it’s their job to make it a nice one! Have they gotten back to you yet on these matters? xx

I have sent that last email a few days ago and got nothing back and thats why I feel like I will have to take this further as people are spending a lot of money and need to have confidence in MYA xxx

its getting looked into and I was told that all the problems pre op was due to not having the nurses but it would be ok post op so I went ahead with it although I did get worried when they never had my blood results on the day of surgery as it wasnt in my notes! I didnt think I would still be having problems!! I only want to be able to see my surgeon after my op after spending £9000
I do think the surgeons are amazing though and i’m very happy with my TT and BA xxx

I think with the messing around I have had I should of traveled to Newcastle from Liverpool as it wouldnt of cost me as much in the long run

eee i’m gob smacked at the problems you have had cazdsa but every bad comment i have read has been about manchester ,, they need to look into manchester and make some changes and fast… hope your ok and hope everything turned out well in the end. look after yourself hunii xxx
Cazdsa you poor thing, sounds like you have had a nightmare! Not good at all. Am not best pleased with the admin at the Manchester clinic myself i have been chasing them for weeks now after paying and recieveing no confirmation (a bit worrying) All they need to do is send me an email or letter in the post not hard! Lets hope it improves for all our sakes. Surgery is worrying enough without having added stress xx
You poor thing! I’ve had my surgery today with Mario and have to say the service I have had from Newcastle has been amazing! My PC rings me regular and even range me today post op, everything as been done very professionally and efficiently, and I can’t fault them! I can recommend the Newcastle clinic to anyone! I work in a hospital as well, and I’ve been impressed on a professional care level, I think they are fab, and extra big thanks to Juie Nicholson at Newcastle, she is great xx….and my new boobies are amazing..the best thing I’ve ever done xx
Same here. Manchester are a complete waste of space. I spent £9,500 with them -& as soon as they got the money they couldn’t give 2 hoots. Half of them don’t know their arse from their elbow. There’s no communication, their rude & ignorant. BIG mistake choosing them xxx
I haven’t had a problem with mya but the manchester clinc is poor service. I’ve sat there an hour an a half for my appointments and its not on. I just don’t see the point in mya having a liverpool clinic when you have 2 travel to manchester anyway for all your nursing appointments etc. They could defo do with investing in a liverpool clinic with a good few nurses. As the manchester clinic seems like it can’t cope with the work load. X
I totally agree with all your comments girls MYA its self and the surgeons are great its the Manchester clinic. I think having one or teo appointments cancelled can be expected or even if they cancel with a few hours notice maybe but travelling for an hour and getting there to be told the nurse thats in cant do bloods or travelling there and the nurse is at home or appointments not being put in diaries when you have took time off work is a little poor when its 7 times
I was told that problems were just pre op due to nurse problems but thats not the case xxx
and also my first appointment with MYA was at Liverpool but that was the only time I have had an appointment there xxx
I feel for u babe, I had a nightmare with them and posted about it, problems with finance, no call backs and then my op getting cancelled the day before. All stress you don’t need. After mya Manchester had more than a mouthful from me and my dad, my surgery was back in n if I hadn’t wanted my sur.geon so badly I would hav cancelled all together. I do have to say since the day of myop, mya have really stepped it up, I’ve had numerous texts, calls, appointment reminders from them, they’ve gone the extra mile. I do think it’s only because of the problems I encountered, hutut has resulted in them now bucking up. I only hope u get the same treatment xxxx
