Poor Customer Service – Really unhappy Started by: kings

    I am really starting to lose faith in the Whole MYA experience and am now having to decide whether to stick with it or go elsewhere. My surgeon consultation was rushed and I feel I need to go back to discuss things in more detail. They were running really late and I was seen over an hour late both times I have been to the clinic. My PC is really difficult to get hold of and takes days to reply to e-mails and every time I ask a question I can’t seem to get a straight answer. Now to top it all off she told me the price she had quoted was for a day case yet in my inital consultaion she told me I would need to stay overnight as I live quite a way from the hospital so a day case was never discussed in any way. So now, after booking a date and paying the deposit and just about getting the money together, I am being told I need to pay more to stay overnight or just have the surgery as a day case which I am not comfortable with. So upset as this was supposed to be something to look forward to and it’s really srating to cause me upset and stress. Anyone else had a similar problem?

    No, I had a really good experience but with the regard to the overnight stay it’s for your own well being…If you live more than an hour away then they like to keep you in just in case anything goes wrong. I would advise you to just pay the £400 and stay there

    with me i booked the surgery date, then was given a date to see the surgeon which i went to, as soon as i said i had mental health problems he put his pen down and said he wont do it, left the room and got the nurse to take me. cant get a letter from the gp as he didnt find it necessary as i was deciding to have surgery myself. so had to cancel surgery and been asking and waiting for a refund for over a month. was told we had either been refunded or they didnt know what was going on and was told id get a ring back but never did. finally got told i was getting a refund yesterday and it would be in my bank yesterday afternoon and still got nothing, so yet again had to ring again just to be told that someone will ring back so just gonna call again this afternoon.

    mya mod said they would look into this for me too a few weeks ago and still nothing.

    just very unhappy with the customer service and has put me off going with mya completetly! x

    Hi Scarlett1 and dolly92, I did some research since this situation came up and have heard of girls staying in a nearby hotel in case there are any problems but I really don’t like that idea. If you stay overnight you have nurses keeping an eye on your BP etc through the night and I’ve heard the surgeon and nurses check everything is ok again in the morning before you are discharged but you won’t get that if you leave the same day. I just wouldn’t be happy taking what I consider to be a risk with my health and I know some may disagree. I am just annoyed I didn’t know this before. As far as I knew, I thought the decision was based purely on your medical history and the distance you live from the hospital in case of any problems. I had no idea a cheaper price was offered for a day case and it seems wrong to encourage people to do this. It doesn’t seem to be that they are looking out for the patients best interests to offer a lower price to leave the same day.
