I’ve been told I can go home on the day of my op because I live close enough to London. But by car it takes probably an hour and a half to two hours, by train it’s 45 mins max. Do you think I’d be okay to go home by train? I’m thinking I may be too sleepy from the anaesthetic on the day but if I were to stay in a hotel for the night, the next day I may be in too much pain to go home by train. What do you think? How did you all feel going home?Did anyone go home by train?

I heard a lady went home by train, got knocked into and had to come straight back.!!! maybe stay in a hotel for the night near by, then travel by car next day away from rush hour/busy times.

I live 90 min from hospital, they told me this was to far. They told me within half hour of hospital. xx

Thanks girls. I can’t find anyone with a car to take me at the moment but hopefully by july/august someone will be available. The thing is with London, the trains are always busy and I wouldn’t want to be bumped and squashed.x

I’m sure the overground train will be fine, it’s just the underground I’m worried about because no matter what time of day I go I never get a seat and end up squashed up against the glass door lol. I haven’t booked yet, hoping to book it this week for July or August. When is yours? Is it at highgate?x

Yeah at Highgate on the 24th of this month. Im worried bout finding my way 2 Highgate frm Paddington. Ive never used tubes before and the thought of it is a bit daunting. Im a daycase so im staying at the comfort inn finchley so got 2 find my way there 1st. I was thinkin on the way home ill get a taxi frm finchley to Paddington coz I dont wana use tubes and get bashed lol. Do u know if that wud cost alot though. I have no clue bout London what so ever. Im frm Cornwall so totaly different lol x

Sorry I don’t have a clue, I’ve never got a taxi in London but I’m sure someone on here will know. That’s a good idea, I could get a taxi from Highgate to St. Pancreas to avoid the underground. Good luck for the 24th, I wish mine was so soon! x
