Im 2 wks post op on sunday. I have taken my steri strips off my wounds tonight in the bath but unsure if i can get a normal shower tomorrow morning now? What about washing my hair, will i still need to wash it over the bath untill the wounds have healed up properly to prevent infection? Also, when can i properly lift my hands above my head. I keep doing it by accident and worrying myself. Hope you can help. Getting hold of a nurse straight away is a nightmare! Thanks girls x

Hi hun, I’m 3 weeks post op tomorrow. I had my first propa hair wash 2 days ago but bent over so I could wash my hair without the shampoo dripping in my scars.. You can get a normal shower about 12 days after surgery but just make sure you sure baby shower gel or something no perfumed and gentle.. Be careful about liftin ur arms up.. Just do whatever feels comfortable and dnt do anything that hurts you.. Hope this helps x x

    Hiya,

im 7 weeks post op, i had a bath at 10 days. and washing my hair in the bath , 4 days after that i peeled off my steri strips.

i used gentle products in the bath , but alwys rinsed my scars with fresh water before i got out.i think after 10 days the healing on the outside is pretty safe.with care.

i think your body gives you the signals , so if it hurts, dont do it,

slow down .each day is a day further on in the healing process. xxxx 😉
