    Hiya everyone,

New to the forum but after reading a few comments and how people comment thought would be a good idea to sign up my self.

I’m at pre op stage & have my surgery booked for the 5th of May… 5 weeks away yet but obviously only thing can think about at the minute!

I just wanted a bit of advice and reassurance really!

First thing, is during all consultations they suggested that you just have to make the payment in full 3 weeks before your surgery, however, they have already called me once requesting the payment in full. Is this procedure to get it as soon as they can?

Also if any one can share their experiences with me (good ones) and put my mind at rest that would be great. Would do it anyways because every experience is obviously different just would like to hear off people who have already had it.

    Thanks! :) xxxx

    Hi Lauren,

Like u said everyone’s experience is different. Some good some bad.

    Here’s mine if it helps.

My PC KD from Manchester clinic kept in touch with me all throughout. There was inconsistency with surgeon’s availability and dates in the beginning but because my PC insisted to explain to me what was happening and offered me generous compensation, it wasn’t a concern to me. We sorted it out between us, i was also realistic with my expectations. The PC’s role and attitude is so important in building that trust between the patient and credibility of the company. If PC do not inform you whats going on (changes and why)and only hear from them when cashing in, that’s it, the impression established is that the whole of MYA is a money grabbing so and so….

SO i had it done, 25Mar in Doncaster with Mr Kazzazi. I was offered 260, 300 and 340 unders (between 2 surgeons, other was Mr Traynor) to achieve small to large C. I went for 260cc, mainly because i wanted to keep the lean young figure (still a lot bigger than what i had tho)

Admission 7.30pm, 10am theatre time and discharged 9pm. It all went well during surgery, Anesthetist came to ask me questions, very pleasant man. I was seen by Mr K about 3 times during the day (once pre-op, and twice post op) I had my anti-embolism socks and disposable knickers during the op. The nurses, ooh they really try to make u feel comfortable, i was provided slippers as i forgot to bring any. I was also given a gift pack (toiletries wrapped in a luxurious looking box with ribbon which i thought sweet =)

After the surgery, when i was wheeled back to my room, i was flat out just asleep throughout the day. Too tired to eat either, fell asleep chewing toast, (tell ya what u lose all ur grace when ur sedated cos bits of toast was still in corner of my mouth when i woke up eeeww). Had drains so i needed help from my hub when i needed the loo. I was so thirsty and warm right after the op even if heater was off so it was even more tiring, the nurse offered electric fan and it was a lot better. Anyways, before Mr K left he told me another doctor will see me later in the evening to check the drains and let me know if he’s happy to discharge me. So it all happened by 9pm. And we moved to our hotel (Earl of Doncaster is a great place to stay).

I ordered for room service, fruits and soup. Threw up every single bit of fruits i had, horrible feeling they said its expected due to anesthesia. I had 15mins rest and moved on to my soup, it was fine. I was soooo hungry.

I was taped up! and it was sooooo itchy from Day2 i was struggling, red skin too tight oooh drove me nuts. I had to take upper half of the take off so my skin can breathe but that was me being naughty. Just call your nurse whatever move u tempted to do ok.Ive not had any painkillers since Day 1 of post op, and im on Day 6 now so im off the antibiotics. I feel a shooting pain on my right boob when i get up in the morning where drain tube was but not enuf pain to take painkiller. I feel soo tight on the chest and bit of back ache due to my face up sleeping position for the last 6days but no serious pain at all. Washed me hair in sink on Day4 as it was getting proper greasy.

Thats about it really: Tomorrow is my 1st week post op appointment, nurse already called today to remind me (she called on Day 1 too to check out on me). So fingers crossed hope the good experience carries on. Ive stopped smoking 2weeks before the op and have not had any. Maybe that’s helping with my healing progress, i am not touching any cigarrett until after my 3months all clear to lower the risk of CC, as i was advised.

I wish you all the luck with ur op hun, we all know it seemed to be a huge step but next thing u know its done, just like that. Im well happy ive finally done it. (sorry if ive written a novel, im just at home bored recovering so i got carried on)

oh dont worry, thats great… its nice to hear in detail exactly what you went through, it kind of puts your mind at rest.

i’m having it done in manchester (well rochdale hospital) so i’m quite a drive from where i live so i will be having the overnight stay which i am more comfortable with then there are people nearby on my first night if i have any worries!

The whole payment thing i mentioned on my original post was a mistake made by their accounts department. They had put my name down for follow up by accident but i’m glad its paid for an out of the way now and all i have to concentrate on is having it done really.

But i am so excited just had mixed opinions from people. No one would ever stop me from having it done though, what matters is my closest friends and family are really supportive of it.

I hope you love your new boobs when they begin to settle! xx
