    my week check today,

she said she hadnt worked there before. she didnt have my files as i sat down and she said how can i help you? not sure why but i assumed the nurses should know if we have an appointment booked there. when i got home id recieved an email saying sorry but no nurses are available for tomorrow and we need to rebook, so they did try to let me know yesterday, luckily we didnt drive 2 hours for nothing!

i dont mind but now im worryin about my incisions, she said the rightie has slight “trauma” from me bein allergic to the tape but they are fine apart from that,

she cleaned them with that anti-bac liquid stuff in the packets? n she stuck these brown squares that are anti-bacterial over my incisions she said it will sting but it didnt.

then stuck on big dressings again.. is it not meant to be steri-strips now? and they both feel SO sore tonight, stinging constantly, they havent been like that atall before n im 7 days po :( i hope the lil brown square things she used arent digging it or something

Hello, I have my post op with the nurse on mon, wot clinic did u go? When you go did they take off the dressings which are already on the incisions? I took the tape off myself as I have a slight fear of things lke that being pulled off me. The dressings over my incisions atm looks pretty stuck to the cuts n its freaking me out at the thought a nurse is going to pull them off!! X

The nurses know exactly what they are doing, they will be used to cleaning and dressing incisions regardless of where they have worked, that’s what they do,it is part of the job. xabbi1988x,dont worry honey, they will be used to removing dressings, this was more worrying for me than the op,I felt sore as the dressings had felt like they were digging in to the incisions,I was so worried they would tug at the stitches, but it was nothing, felt much better when I was all clean, and had new dressings on,honestly,Its nothing to worry about honey, you will be fine, xxx

tina2011 is right don’t worry, assessing and dressing wounds is something you learn from second year of nurse training x

Hey hun dont be put off I had the same thing my first post op appointment and later that night cried because it was stinging so much and had felt great up to that point but when she told me one not healed as well as the other and cleaned them and told me to come back think i just got bit down and got upset later on for no reason the stinging just made me feel sorry for myself, but three weeks down the line and im still having to go back every week but I have just accepted it is just taking me longer to heal than some and at least there is no infection and I fully well apart from that so dont feel bad hun It will all be good :-) xxx
