Don’t get me wrong, the pain in general has been worse than I ever could have imagined… Day 6 post opp now and I am happy to say it seems to finally be easing gradually. However…
SHOULDER PAIN?! My right shoulder is unbearable, can’t even do the tiniest of shoulder circles, I have to manually lift my left hand/arm with my right one and it feels numb and cold constantly – pins and needles, the lot. I also find it hard to get comfy because it feels like my left shoulder blade is sticking out funny; it gets hooked over the top of my surgery bra ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Is this normal? When will it go away?
I usually have a sports massage once a week for chronic ‘knots’. I know I can’t lie down for a massage, but I have a Swedish massage thing that goes on a chair. Will I be able to use this (if I can handle the pain)?

On a plus side, I feel human for the first time today and finally feel I’m making progress and I LOVE my results ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Hi I had my surgery on 28th of January and I have the same problem with my right arm. However I did have a back and neck pain but I hope it was due to uncomfortable sleeping position. But then it we t down to my arm, the elbow area. It’s so painful I can’t even do my arm straight. And it looks red and feels harder than the rest of the arm. Let me know if you feel any better and how did you get on with it xxx

Iโ€™m happy to report that my shoulder and arm are absolutely fine now! I still donโ€™t lift my arms over my head yet but thatโ€™s more of a cautious choice than anything. Iโ€™m now 3 weeks post opp. From 2 weeks post opp, I really do feel much better in general. I hope you are feeling better too. Happy to share some arm exercises/movements that really helped me. My physio aid mum talked me through them and my nurse (at 2 weeks PO check) said they were perfect! X
