Pre-Op

Hey,

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what happens in your pre-op, I have mine today at 12:00 but I’m not actually sure what happens whilst I’m there xxx

I think they do bloods and mrsa swabs xx

Mine was with the nurse. She was lovely. She went through m medical history did my height and weight. She didn bloods but only because of a pre existing issue not routine then she did mrsa swabs. She also took photos and confirmed which size I want. I was in about 45 min but we were having a good natter. She then booked my 1 week post op appointment with her so I have the same person.

Oh she also went through the op and told me what i should and shouldnt do, admission and post op stuff like showering and dressings and bras etc.

I only had mine last week my surgery is on 24th Jan. Good luck.

Don’t worry I feel more nervous for my pre op tomorrow than my actual surgery haha xx

I was about to answer but Louise got it pretty much spot on … nothing to worry about and it’s a good chance to ease your mind and get any other questions answered x

I have to go back as they ran out of MRSA swabs, luckily I only work a two minute walk from there! xx

Jess i didn’t have a blood test when i went for mine 2 weeks ago. She just told me that you have to do a pregnancy test the morning of the surgery at the hospital x

Oh good I hope I don’t have to have one! I’m so bad with blood tests xx

Supposed to have mine today which was confirmed by email to arrive and there’s no one there! Had to pay for childcare for the morning, fuel, hubby worked last night so only had 2hrs sleep before driving me there. Parking charges etc… Gutted is an understatement!

Managed to get through to my coordinator who got the date wrong. I know mistakes happen but still doesn’t stop me feeling bad and feel like I’ve not had the best customer care. Trying to fit any dates in is hard due to work, children and other family commitments it ends up been a military operation trying to book the smallest things in.

Deposit paid and due to pay the remaining balance in a few weeks ????
