Hi Ladies, I’m due for my OP on Monday and I have just had a call from the Nurse to say my White blood count is slightly elevated and am I ill? She said there could be a prob with having the surgery. I have always got a slightly elevated white count, I had it investigated last year which they never really got to the bottom of as I was fine at the time of having the elevated levels.. I was very ill at the start of the year, constantly on antibiotics because of recurring tonsillitis. Has any of you had this come up and how did you go if so… she said the norm rate is 10-11 and I’m 12 something… This is really the only chance I have to do it as I need help with my special needs daughter after the op and everything is in place… I’m so worried right now that they gonna pull the pin… I’m absolutely fine at the moment, feel the best I have done for a long time…STRESSING NOW BIG TIME!!!

I think I would be good idea to get a letter from your doctors to state your fit for surgery, hope this helps :)xx

Hi lauren, yeah they have contacted my doctor, but unfortunately they are bloody useless.. I went straight up to the surgery and they haven’t got all my previous bloods on file to show i always have slightly elevated count.. Ive forwarded a letter from my doc in Australia as they were investigating a elevated white count last year, as it was up for no apparent reason.. I only moved back to UK at end of September last year. Just hope they get it sorted…. soooooo upset right now.. thanks heaps for your advice chick. xxxx
