pre op problems :-(

Im not normally one 2 have a moan but ive got my op in 7 days tomorrow and I went 2 manchester the other week for my pre op even though I am originally from the Liverpool clinic but thats closed at the moment, to then be told when I arrived at my appointment time of 4.30 that my appointment is now at 5.30 because no nurse is available to do my bloods but they forgot to tell me. so after picking my little boy up early from nursery and arraging baby sitters and me and my partner finishing work early we sat there until 6pm before seeing anyone but still had no pre op done. my coordinator was then off for a week so she said someone would sort an appointment out for me which although its costing me in parking,fuel,childcare loss of work I didnt moan,3 days on a run I phoned up trying 2 get an appointment and was told 3 days on a run that someone would call me back (nobody did) it was left to my coordinator when she returned to book a nurse appointment which was meant to be tonight at 6.30 but at 5.30 tonight I get a call to say the nurse in tonight cant do bloods!!! now its 7 days till my op ive finished work early and my partner again and they give me 1 hrs notice when manchester is 50 mins from where I live. I think this is very poor xx

Hearing lots of negative things like this at the moment it’s making me wonder whether to book with Mya after all…

I dont think its mya as a company chick think its the clinic that are having problems with nurses who can take bloods xx

Iv only recently joined the forum and am looking at booking a consultation after christmas but I’m getting swayed towards transform, as I’m reading a lot of negativity regarding MYA especially the aftercare!

Has anybody had their op with transform and if so how was your experience?

Hope they sort themselves out soon! I’m at Manchester for my pre op in 2 weeks!! As if your not stressed out enough before surgery then they mess u about!!! Not good

Ive had my op with MYA (6 days post op now) and have had nothing but fantastic care from beginning to end.

However i have been going to the birmingham clinic but I have had no problems.

The care and aftercare so far has been exceptional! I hope you have a good experience whoever you go with…. im sorry that so far it hasnt been that good for you, hopefully it will sort itself out

I had my 2nd op with tr*nsf*rm and personally would never go there again!!! They promised me aftercare etc however i never even got a appointment after my surgery other than to have the stitches out. They wrote the wrong name on my sick note!! and when i had my stitches removed she said oh do you work in a hospital i should have taken mrsa swabs at your pre-op to which i responded you did!! and she said oh i forgot to send them off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so i had, had my surgery without having the mrsa swabs tested!!!!!!! luckily for me they must have been negative anyway but i just found the whole process really unprofessional!!!.

I then had my 3rd BA with MYA and they were fab!!!! fantastic aftercare, the nurse rang me many times to make sure i was ok, i then had a appointment with the nurse and 6 weeks later 1 with the surgeon. Overall i would defo go with MYA. Hope that helps hun xxx

Suppose there’s lots of girls who’ve had really good experiences with Mya and it’s unfortunate that the bad experiences all seem to be coming at once! All I can think is at the end of the day, it’s a big op and just wanna know that I’ll be looked after if anything went wrong! annoying thing is I really like one of the surgeons I’ve met at Mya and had my heart set on him… Sorry for hijacking the post btw!!

Manchester clinic r shit full stop Hun, tell them u can’t get to Manchester again, ask if u can go to your gp or walk in centre n c f they can get results from them xxx

well i can honestly say MYA have been great with me i have put a few of my friends forward im 100% happy with my boobs and the after care is fantastic! heard bad stuff about transform i like the fact we can all talk before and after op on here its great xxx

i went with transform and would recomend then 100%. i havent had any problems with them at all and have found the aftercare great. im currently nearly 3 months post op and i’ve seen the nurse twice and have an apointment with my surgeon the end of next week. for anyone torn between which company to go with i would definitely recomend going for consultations with a few companies and meet different surgeons. you’ll know which one you feel more confortable with then xx

cazdsa…I am from Liverpool and i have my pre-op this Thursday, mine is in Rodney st, so who told you the clinic was closed because they are giving you false information, it’s ridiculous they actually made you go to Manchester just for your pre-op!

well ive just had 2 go 2 preston for my pre op because the liverpool one got cancelled today my coorinator is amazing shes lovely even picked me up and took me there which I said to her it will be a good test run for the day of my op because thats where I am going, she then said it wont because your not at that hospital! they have gave me the wrong hopital and ive just found out when you guys had a pre op where you weighed have hight done and B/P checked?? because I never? xxx

I’m having the same problem and think it’s really poor practice! I was trying for 3 days to contact my PC and she never got back to me, Tried every way to get in touch with her, Finally got through to someone else tonight who told me they’d let me know my pre op date in 2 weeks, My op is in 2 weeks!!!!!!

I think they’re having trouble with nurses, They are using one nurse to deal with Birmingham and Nottingham, I am gonna have to travle to Birmingham when I finally get my date I hope they sort it soon as I can’t afford to go to Birmingham for all my post op checks and my daughter will go crazy sitting in the car for that length of time

they are having prblems with nurses but im just upset that ive found out by chance tonight that im not going to the hospital I was told for my op thats not nurse problems xxx

To be fair I think it depends what clinic you’re at too… I haven’t heard a bad thing about Cardiff clinic which is where I use, and my PC Miriam is fantastic there!

Also have friends that have already had their BA with MYA (also been based at Cardiff) and all can’t praise them enough.

I went to a few cosmetic surgery companies before MYA and none of them were half as good… For a start the aftercare you get with MYA lasts alot longer than others, make sure you read the small print on everything – you’ll be suprised!

It is such a shame that you are experiencing these problems,Im sure they will be doing all they can to rectify this,the main thing is you have your op dates and don’t let anything put you off,I think also where the hospitals are concerned,if the theatres are booked and for some reason they run over time,ie I should imagine they will have to leave some slots for emergencies,then I think they would change the hospital,rather than cancel your surgery and disappoint,and to be honest I know it can be disappointing moving you around,but its better than cancelling your op altogether, Im sure they will look after you travel wise if you do have to change at the last minuite,stay positive lovelies,its easy for me to say because Ive had my op,and it ran smoothly,when you are admitted to the hospital,they will do your blood pressure height and weight,so dont worry about that,xxx

They will reimburse you hun if you explain to your PC what’s been happening. I had to go back and forth to doncaster for post op care, which is 2 hours drive from me and they reimburse my petrol so i’m sure they will for you too xx

I’m worried that if they don’t do my Pre-op in time then I won’t be able to have the op

hi girls yes I do understand that hospitals can get changed which is better than a cancellation but I only found out last night when I said to my coordinator this will be a good test run going here for my pre op because this is where my op is. she then said im not there! if I hadnt had that conversation when would I of found this out? my op is in 6 days time xx

What if something isn’t right and it can’t be fixed in time?

So worried now, Been looking forward to this for ages now convinced it’s not going to happen

cazdsa: I think their communication isn’t very good at MYA. It’s lucky you did say that or you may of turned up at the wrong hospital!

hi sarahlewis you will get your pre op done in time although you may have 2 travel a little I only had my bloods done last night and my op is in 6 days and yes I think it may of got 2 the day of my op before I found out where I was going ooops xx
