Pre Op Tubulars…

Hi girlies,

I met with Mario today and was told that i have tubular boobies and initially said i would need a nipple lift as well but then said he could do it without that! Just wondering whether anyone had tubulars before op and what they look like after? Especially helpful if with Mario…also if you had to have nipple lift as well?!

Also help with sizing…I want to be a D…I am currently size 12, 36a and Mario has said 300, 340 or 380s…they will be over the muscle as its corrective surgery…any help will be fab

I also have tubular breasts and was recommended 350s over the muscle to get a better shape. One of my nipples is 1cm lower than the other but the surgeon (Helena) said it wasn’t significant enough for a nipple lift. I think they have to release some of the tissue or something to relax the shape of tubulars too which i think is why they recommend overs. I’m currently a 36A cup, 4ft 11 size 10 (hoping to get back down to an 8 before my op in April!) and she said 350s should make me a C. I hope I’m happy with this and don’t get boob envy too much, I’m quite worried about rippling etc since there going over the muscle too and I guess there is a greater risk of this bigger you go.

Not sure if it helps but the general consensus on the forums seems to be go for the biggest implants they suggest…

Im the same…i really wanted unders just cus they look more natural and less chance of rippling etc! I think i am going to try and go back and see him re size and different types of implants as he never mentioned them! Im worried the same as you im worried i wont b happy with the size..ahhhhh tooo many decisions lol!!x

I feel reassured you have the same advice as me regarding overs for tubular breasts. Also lots of girls on here have amazing results from overs so I’m deffo going for it! You should add some people so you can have a look for yourself! There are advantages to overs too, I’d just got it into my head that I should have unders, but as my sister says (she had unders last year), she doesn’t feel hers look particularly “natural” in low cut tops either. And apparantly you get better cleavage with overs too.

It is true what they say that you forget all the questions when your in there lol! The only thing that sways me to the others over CUI’s is the extra 15 year warranty! I know, good to talk to someone that has same thing as me going on! I know overs and unders both have pros and cons and i will deffo still have overs but like you just hhad it in my head i should have unders lol i guess no one is as knowledgeable as the surgeon so we will be fine i am sure! He said he needs to get rid of the gap inbetween mine too so if overs give better cleavage i guess thats one plus! Can i add you hun so we can follow eachothers journeys?x

I was so stressed when I came out as everything I’d read was about unders! But three surgeons have told me to have overs so you can’t argue with the guys that know. My philosophy now is if they look “fake” so be it, they gotta look better than mine at the moment so c’est la vie!

Another thing my surgeon said was they I needed quite a wide implant cos I’m quite broad. I’m only short and no one believes me when I tell em, but she told me to buy a 38C bra, 38 eek! I went to see her wearing a 32B which is apparantly v much not my size! oops lol

Oh god, that a bit of a shock lol mario thought i was 34b but im wearing 36 which shocked him lol so hard to get the right size!

Somebody has just told me to buy bra’s that are two back sizes up but I’ve already bought 4 sports bras now which are 36 backs instead of 34! grrr

I also have tubular boobs but I haven’t had my op yet (it’s 4th april) so not sure what they will look like but I’m feeling the same as in nothing can be worse than what I have now. I know a lot of girls with tubular breasts have big nipples but mine aren’t too big, they just point down howeverrr I am trying to think positive and think that they will look less fake since my nipple won’t be pointing to the ceiling but hopefully they won’t be pointing to the floor any more either by the time the implant is in there! (I’m not having a nipple lift either) I’m having 450cc moderate profile cui implants, above the muscle so hopefully the weight might help them to bottom out a little bit to raise my nips ha

Are either of you’s getting a lower incision to make a lower crease? I know a lot of girls with tubular breasts get these but my pc said sometimes it doesn’t work but if I want I can go back to discuss with surgeon as he didn’t discuss it and didn’t know anything about it until reading on here but she said he would have suggested it if I needed it

Well I don’t really have much of a “crease” anymore. I used to but then I lost loadsa weight and it dissapeared (my boobs however generally didn’t change v much – always been small and nipples point south!). Like you Sophie I don’t have massive nipples really, but deffo south facing nipples! lol I think the surgeon mentioned something about a lower incision, but as I don’t have much of a crease anyway I’m hoping I won’t have the problem where the crease is quite tight and is still visible over the implant…

There are a whole different spectrum of “tubularness” so I guess it depends how severe you are, some people require nipple lifts too but she didn’t recommend that. I think they do something where they cut the tissue to relax it or something. Argh I’m so rubbish, shoulda asked more questions! lol

Mario mentioned making a lower crease…he drew me pictures and said i will have a indentation for the first 6 months or so where my old crease was until it all settles! As if a normal boob job is not enough to worry about now we have this to worry about too lol! Sophie…I havnt booked it yet, i applied for loan yesterday so need to wait and see if i get that if not sweet talk my dad LOL but hoping to have it done end of april/may! Do you mind me adding you?

yeh i had that indentation for a while im about 12 wks post op and its fading, u can see in my pics where it was reallly noticeable & now its going!

I don’t actually get what you’s mean about having the tissue cut, I think I understand but what does it actually do? Is it meant to change the shape or something? Xxx

To be fair though, if i have an indentation then i have it, anything is better than what i have at the minute! Your pics look fab aysha, bet your well chuffed!

Ok Sophie With me, i need to have the tissue cut as i have nothing at the bottum of my boobs, they fold over instead of being full at the bottom if that makes any sence, so hard to explain without drawings or seeing them lol! Then once the tissue is cut he will put implant in there and create a new crease to give me the correct shape! But that means ill have an identation for a while until your old crease and the implants settle! I guess its kind of like creating the bottuming out process…dont know if that makes any sense but hope it helps a little! xx

yeh sure sophie, and yeh it kind of releases the tissue so it can shape around the implant, as tubular breasts are constricted into a certain shape, mr singh did all that at no extra charge i thought i would of had to pay more!! x

Hi all, I have just started a similar post tonight – as I saw Mario yesterday who advised I have tubular breasts and so need to have overs. I feel really disappointed as I want a very natural look, and had my heart set on unders – I don’t feel he explained it all to me properly as was only with him around 15 mins, not long enough really! It’s good to read all these comments from you girlys as I don’t feel like it’s only me going through this! Just thinking of having a second opinion with another surgeon, just to see what they say! Nightmare!!! xxx

Ah I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one Dolcie, this forum is so amazing for getting other people’s opinions! I had in my head exactly what I wanted, and when I saw Mario yesterday I was so confused as he recommended everything I said I didnt want! I just felt completely rushed in and out, and forgot everything I wanted to ask, and before I knew it I was doing the 2 hour drive back home! I will definately keep you posted, will add you now chick Have you decided to go ahead? Also what size are you thinking? I just want to have it all over and done with!!! xxx

Im the same as you, had everything in my head of what i wanted and what questions to ask, he near enough recomend everything opposite and i forgot all my questions lol felt so silly!! My PC was quite good though, she re-assured me! Okie doke, will accept now, be good to follow your journey, im the same as you, want it all over and want nice boobies! Ah I know, its reassuring knowing someone is going through the same as you! Plus someone else to talk to – I tried explaining it all to my partner this morning, think he switched off after about 2 minutes! Brill!

Yes I found the language barrier to be a bit of an issue too – I’m a bit of a control freak and have to know everything! It’s def given me something to think about tho – although I am going to see him again too. Take pics of exactly what I do and don’t want, and also clarify the sizing. He offered me the same, 300 / 340 or 380; although he also said he’d just do whatever he thought was best on the day. That’s all well and good, but it’s our body and we have to live with it!!!! Think I’m going to go for 340 or 380 – I just really, really, really don’t want that stuck on look! I’d rather not have them done at all! It’s so hard isn’t it! xxx

Id rather no everything too and kind of feel he didnt really offer much info apart from risks/numbers which they have to tell us! I think if i see him again all will be ok…i hope lol! He said the same to me that he will put in what he can fit…but like you say id like some kind of choice! It sounds like we had practically the same consultation chick! He just ran through everything, risks etc, although as soon as he said overs and high profile I just couldn’t think – hadn’t prepared myself for that at all!

Hmmm I’m sure everything will be OK…. I absolutely have every confidence in him, although I need to make sure I’ve covered everything beforehand. I’ve wanted it for so long, and it is a large sum of money to be handing over, it’s understandable really! Yes he also mentioned about a nipple life, although I’ve no idea if that was on one boob or both (when I questioned it he just said it would be fine!) So now I’ve had some time to think, I’m going to try seeing him again (and be more prepared!) I’m more or less ready to book my date, just was so confused yesterday I had to go away and digest the information before I could even consider booking! What size do you think you will ask for? I’m tempted to say 380, just scared of rippling (another reason I wanted unders!) xxx

I have seen his work and not heard one bad word about him so we will be fine but we need to feel that before we go ahead really, like you say its so much money and been a dream for so long we have got to be happy we done it right! Im booking my date on monday and will ask for another appointment with Mario at same time! I am thinking the biggest so yeah 380…what are you currently?

I am a 34a/b, I don’t want to go too big, probably just a D! I am at Leeds clinic, but have been told I have to go to Preston as this is the only hospital Mario operates? Only thing is I live in Lincoln, so Preston is a 3 hour journey for me…. not too bad on the way there, but not looking forward to that journey home!! What about you?? xxx

Hi girls, thought I’d share my experience with you.

I had tubulars, 36A and huge gap between them. I had 600cc moderate profile cos I’m very broad and now I measure a 38E, but look about a D/DD. I had the inside of my boobs scored to release all the constricitve tissue, this is really important with tubulars as they are breasts which haven’t formed properly, so often very narrow at the base. I also had my crease lowered by about 2 inches because I didn’t want the extra expense and scarring of a lift. Be warned, the double bubble look (where you can see your old boob sitting on top of the implant) takes a while to go. I’m almost 7 months post op now, and one boob still has a double bubble look- really hoping this will go by the time I’m a year post op, but will have to wait and see.

I will say not to expect perfect or instant results because tubulars are so much harder to correct. It’s a waiting game, unfortunately. x

I think that is more reason why I need to investigate further – it seems there is so much more to correcting tubular breasts, although Mario never mentioned anything about lowering creases or scoring the inside of my boobs. To be honest that concerns me a little, as he should be informing us even more so, it’s so important! I’m just wondering whether to go ahead at all – to be honest I’m quite happy with the size of my boobs, I don’t have massive nipples, just want them to bed a little fuller! If I could end up being even more unhappy, then I need to seriously have a think xxx

I would make a note of all these issues and take them to the surgeon and ask him to talk you through it all. Failing that, I would ask for a second opinion/see another surgeon. Otherwise, I’m really happy with mine. It’s so nice to finally look in proportion. I sometimes regret not having the lift, but I had infections just in the wounds in the crease, so I can only imagine what would’ve happened with more scars. Still, I would recommend a BA to any girl, but it’s so important you make a fully educated decision. All in all, I seriously researched and considered my op for 3 yrs. It’s really not something you can take on lightly. x

Hi, i was 32aa tubular, ofcourse i’d never heard of tubular before i walked into that consultation room! when people said why did you get a ba natural boobs are so much better i think, yes, natural boobs are lovely, but not mine!

Mario offered me 260/300/340, i initially thought 300 but then tried on the implants with the consultant and decided i could easily carry off 340. He also said to me that on the dy he would decide what he could fit in. In the end he put in 300, he was too busy that day and didn’t even tell me, it wasn’t til the nurse brought me my impants’ ‘receipt’ and i studied it that i realised!

Aanyway, i love them they look natural. My crease was lowered too and as for double bubble i noticed it in the first 2 weeks or so slightely but think i got off quite lightely. When i had 6 week check up Mario did say that that hadn’t affected me much. The check up was such a rush, as much as i love Mario and what he did for me, all the time i spent with him (except when under ga) i felt he was rushing me through

Oh and i’m almost 20 weeks post-op, honestly, they’ve felt like they’d always been there since about the 5/6 week mark!

Im at bristol clinic, going to birmingham or london hosp with Mario so dont think that is the only place he operates?! Like you i dont mind journey there but back isnt so inviting lol!

Ive also got the stupid huge gap between mine! MArio explained about scooring the tissue inside to make a proper shape for my boobies and how i will have double bubble for at least 6 months so like you say not to expect perfection straight away!

Also acorn, parents and such like are saying to me you dont need it etc etc but when you hate them sooo much and you then find out you have a deformity it just makes it even worse and a deffinate that you need it done! Sucks how people dont always understand!xx

Aysha how long did it take to go down? I’m having my op on the 23rd March, and going to Ibiza for the summer at the beginning of June. Really worried about having a double bubble in my bikini! x
