My op isn’t till the 16th May but I’m worrying I won’t have everything I need or be planned and follow correct after care properly..any advice/tips would be helpful 🙂 x
U need ur bra for afrer surgery, vpillow, front fastening top and loose fiting bottons, magazines or a book to keep you occupied. Before your op you cant eat 5/6 hours befor and only water 2 hours before ur admission time.
You will be explained everything wen u get ur admission tine, a few days befoee surgery.
Should I be oiling my boobs now and when should you start putting the oil back on after op? Also is there anything you use for incisions or do you just leave them well alone? Do you know a good scar/stretch mark cream? Also I’ve heard ladies saying usie bruising cream and also take lacitives after op? I’m so confused lol..I’m turning into a stressful mess lol.. Also what are the best sports bras? Sorry for all the questions 🙂 x
Also what washing products should be used and is there any special deodorant? C
My op is 16th May too 🙂 but I’m going with Transform. Hopefully having my pre-op appointment soon. You can buy antibacterial soap to wash beforehand but don’t use any deodorant or moisturiser. Basically, leave your skin bare. I just went and bought a pack of 2 extra high support sports bras from M&S, one white and one black, they are so nice and feel like they’ll be so supportive! Afterwards I think you should leave your scars alone until they have started to heal, keep them dry.
I never used stretch mark cream.
You need antibacterial soap.
And scars will be covered after op. You need to keep them dry. I went to see nurse 8 days post op who took plasters off and cleaned themand put steri strips on. Went back to see her at 15 days post op and she dud the same again and trimmed the stitches. Im now allowed to get them wet at 18 days post op not soak them but just get shower and let water run over my boobs then i have tp take steri strips off after shower and pat area dry then put new ones on then can take them off for good after 3 days.
Mines the 13th, i’ve bought arnica for bruising, (about £6 in holland and barrett, ask member of staff which one is better for surgery as there’s a few out) and i got 2 macom, M&S sports bra, as well as asda one (gonna take back whichever ones i don’t need, keep receipts) palmers stretchmark cream (is that what its called?) i’ve been using a bit up to now but lots of ladies don’t bother (so it’s up to you) you can use bio oil, but I personally think if your gonna get them you will regardless of creams/oils. I will use afterwards when i remember though. I’ve bought charcoal tablets for bloating and then lax tablets just in case needed. V-shape pillow, and lots of others for sitting upright. i’ve heard afterwards about using steri strips, but don’t know if nurse give you them or not. I know you can buy them online though. x
