I loved my day at Preston, wish I could do it again lol xx
I’ve been highgate. Staff were fab. Food was good and the rooms were quite nice. A bit like a travelodge hotel. I’m going to Preston today so I’ll let you know which I preferred. X
Thanks mini that’s a great help xxx
Thanks Amy also
Which surgeons have you both had plz zx
I had Mr Traynor in October. Arrived at 8:30am, went in at 11:45, back in room at 1pm being pampered by the boyfriend and nurses. Lovely comfy room and the nurses offered I could stay over for free if I wanted cos I was sooo comfy and unsteady on my feet but felt sorry for my man who had been waiting for 11 hours! Wish I’d stayed though, was lovely! Xx
Thanks Amy. If I go with Russo rather than helena it would be Preston anyways xxx
Ok. I’ve experienced both now. Despite my whinging earlier I can say I enjoyed my visit more once I’d had the op. the staff were ace. Loved them. Nothing was too much trouble n they had a sense of humour. First trust is not as busy as highgate so I think that’s y I was so board whilst waiting. At highgate I could hear nurses chattering so didn’t feel so alone whilst waiting to go down. After the op I’d say both places are as good as each other in terms of attentiveness etc. I did really like the nurses at preston today though.
I dont think I could choose one and say it was better. There equally good. Highgate had bigger rooms that’s the only thing I can say is better than Preston. X
awe thanks mini, glad every thing went well (when u finally had op lol) have spoken to my pc and am now meeting mario next friday aswell and if i like what he says it will be preston anyways.
happy healing hunni xxxx
Just re read my post. Think I’m still high. Lol. Good luck with choosing your surgeon. X
PRESTON !!
Such a lovely welcoming place and EVERYONE who dealt with me were lovely!! I dont usually like staying over in hospitals but wouldn’t of minded at all staying there!!
xx
thanks laura, preston seems to be the most popular xxx
I had mine at Highfield, was brill apart from some ancient fossil Night nurse that spoke to me like shit! But place/food/all other nurses were fab xxx
Thanks Amanda is that the Rochdale one? Xx
I stayed at Preston for 2 nights as op delayed a day when I got there. Can’t fault the staff they were great. It’s a nice quiet hospital and the views from my room (5) were lovely. x
preston was lovely, the nurses where really nice, and very helpful, the rooms where nice, and the beds didnt look like hospitals ones, which helped me, the rooms are easy manageable when your feeling less then ok after the op. free tea and coffee for your friends/partner/whoever goes with you
only downside i found, was outside looked rather like a scary cottage in a horror movie xx
Hahaha joanna. That last comment made me laugh. Thanks ladies xx
i found it in the dark at first (we wanted to make sure we could get there in time for my 7.30 admission time), and i just felt freddy crouger was going to jump out any second, in the morning wasnt much better, as it was still dark, but getting lighter xx
Lol bless ya. Only just a bit spooky then xxxx
