problems with Implanon??

hi girls,

ive had my implant nearly 2 years and thought i loved the bugger rarely had periods and if i did they only lasted a few days ….but

ive had spotting twice in the last month or so which is out of the ordinary, my moods have been less than great il be super high then super low, my skins being a bugger lately even my tattoos are taking longer to heal than normal, im always tired and sometimes irritable im pretty sure ive gained weight since i had it but maybe previously blamed it on being at uni lol

i took the day off work today because i felt like crap.

thinking about getting it removed, the thought of having to deal with periods again is a bummer.

Also seen as ive been a really slow healer with tats, cuts, bruises lately im worried it will affect my boobie healing

anyone had similar problems with the contraceptive implant ??

hey! My friend had to get hers removed after nearly 2 years, she was the same..totally fine then just went crazy, major highs and lows and bad headaches etc! Ive had it in twice, took out to have another baby and this time plan to keep it in..will be coming up on 2 yrs soon so hope its not a common thing eek! Sorry to hear ur not been feeling great, maybe should go to docs and ask to get it changed? they have recently made changes to it aswell..we have the ‘old model’ lol…another friend was told about the changes when she got it in this year, supposedly ppl were still gettin preggers onit! hope u feel better soon xxx

Its been an absolute nightmare for me I bleed almost constantly… In fact that’s how for me its a contraceptive, no one would wana go nr me lol. As for healing etc I can honestly say I haven’t noticed anything there but were all different hun. Def have mood swings like but maybe I’m just blamin it on the implant wen I’m really just a mardy arse lol. If it bothers u a lot get it removed, I’m gettin mine tuk out after I’ve ad my boobs dun (which is tmoro yey lol) good luck xx

maybe see your doctor about having a new one put in, my friend is the same has major lows and she has to have hers changed every 2 years because of it x

So strange this post has just come up, I had mine removed yesterday for these exact same reason mad highs and lows, I’ve now got serious spots, I’ve lost complete sex drive, I’m constantly irritateable, aso period all the time since it’s been in! I had it in for 6 months

For the right person it would be a great contraceptive but just not for me! X

heeey ive had it for 5yrs and i love it! Hardly any periods and they are light and last a day or two when i get them.

I havent put on weight at all, if u eat more u will put on weight. They said to me there is nothing in the implant that makes u put on weight it makes ur body think its preg and thats why we eat more. If u eat the same as before u wont put weight on xxx go speak to ur docs babe and see what they say xxx

sooo glad its not just me, rang up and having it replaced next week =] so hopefully thatl sort me out, im normally pretty good practically no periods, moods were fine ect but the last few months have been a mess lol.
