I went shopping yesterday for some bras because i’m SOOOO fed up of wearing sports bras in this weather and when we go out sports bras show too much with my clothes. I’m only going to wear them when I go out though.

Anyway, my first visit was to La Senza… thinking I was a 32D cup I took a load of bras to the changing rooms… they did not anywhere near fit me! So I asked someone to measure me. She said I should be wearing a 30 back and i’m an F or a FF cup!! I tried on the F bra and it fit great but she said the cups looked a little tight so I should wear an FF but they didn’t have any in the shop to try. She did say La Senza bras come up smaller in size so in other shops I would probably be a 30E cup.

2nd visit was to John Lewis who also measured me as a 30E. I didn’t think I was this big but then my back is smaller than I thought it was so i’ve been wearing the wrong size bra for at least 8 years! This means before my BA I was actually a 30B bra. I’m now a 30E after having 380 overs.

It sounds big but they don’t actually look that big!

I’m only 18 days post op so shouldn’t be wearing proper bras yet I know but has anyone else done this?!

thats mad!! ha ha!! thats exactly what happened to me!! i used to wear friggin 36b bra’s and was told i was a 34b b4 my op!! and after having my ba last year and uplift i was measured by the wonderbra shop at a 32e!! i coulodnt belive it but they fit nice, but now i have gone upto a 32f as got measured by debenhams, so i bought a 32f bra but thats too small!! so maybe ff in some places. its so suprising and suprising how slim you really are XXXX its ace xx

Think I may find i’m a different size in all sorts of shops then – why can’t they all just stick to the same size?!

xdodiex I was finding it hard to buy any bras in La Senza as they don’t do many 30FFs! However John Lewis is really good for small backs and big cups and they had quite a few there. Also EBAY!! (only new ones of course!) they have quite a few on Ebay! lol

    hi Snowangel,

Can i ask you what you measure under your boobs, and around the fullest part?

It’s just that i measure 30″ underneath, and 38″ at fullest, and i’m wearing a 34e but not sure if i should really be wearing a 32″ band?

I measure 28″ under my boobs and 35″ around the fullest part. It’s best to go and get measured in somewhere like John Lewis (they do it with your bra on in case you are shy btw!) They basically tell you to put a bra on and check it fits properly… in La senza she told me to put on a 32DD bra and came back to check me. She said the back was too big and the cups too small so she came back with a 30F for me to try on then came back and checked again once it was on.

It sounds like you should be a 32… the lady told me you should be able to get two fingers in between your back and the fastening, but if it pulls too far away from your back it’s too big.

Also remember if you go down a back size you will go UP a cup size so if you are a 34E but find out you need a 32 back you would be a 32F
