I’d say if it’s more than an hours drive I’d stay overnight Hunn. Some women have found the post op drive very uncomfortable x

Hiya, my op is tomorrow and i haven’t booked hotel yet as I’m kinda hoping I can go home instead. I’m an hour and a half away. Do we have to tell them where we are staying or do we just go home when they discharge us? I’d rather go home as I know I’m gonna be uncomfortable the next day too anyway… Xx

i was told they like you to stay in a 10 milee radius just in case anything goes wrong (blood clot)etc, if you go home your not covered by the hospital, im staying up there not found some cheap hotels :) xx

im from wales hun and had op about 10 in morning and was home to pick kids up from school…..wasnt meant to do it, but to be honest if anything had go wrong i would have been drove back straight away.

i understand the kids thing tho. i hate being away from them all.

we stayed in the ibis about 15 mins away, the night before. traveled up late after kids went to bed, as was easiest think to do. it was also 1 of the cheapest.
