    Hi ladies,

I’ve got my consultation in Leeds on Saturday with Katy and I’m not sure what to expect. I was wondering if anyone has any advice on questions I need to ask during my consultation? Anything you’d wished you would of asked before you had your surgery?

    Thanks in advance!

I went for a consultation on Monday and most of the questions I had, the surgeon had answered already so write anything down just in case. I run marathons so I asked about that too so anything that’s specific to you. Hope all goes well!

@lauren, I’m a distance runner too- what did they tell you, just out of interest? Said 6 weeks of no running to me & then to build back up slowly. I have my surgery early April xx

Yeah they said the same to me but to try walking regularly in between. I’m going to miss running so much during recovery haha! I’m not having mine done until October because I want to do the Great North Run.

I’m doing GNR too so having mine in April so that I’ll be ok for Sept! I’m caning it for the next 4 weeks but the break is going to be tough… Worth it tho! Can do spin and incline treadmill walks after 3 weeks ish apparently xx

I was tempted to have mine done before but time off work was difficult so I just decided after! Have you done it before? That’s handy to know, thank you. Hopefully recovery is good!

Yeah a few times and done full marathons too. I don’t really give my body much of a break, so actually think 4 weeks off could do me the world of good long term! My nurse said at the 2 week appt they’ll advise more specifically about what can/can’t do re exercise, but that should be given the go ahead for light leg training xx

@rehanne, sorry we’ve totally hijacked your post. I didn’t ask enough at my first appt as was a bit too giddy! The best part is after you’ve met your surgeon as then you get to go and try sizers on! Xx

Yeah I’m the same! It’ll be glad of the break haha. You’ll have to let me know how you get on and your progress with the recovery. Give me w good idea of what’s happens regarding exercise after. Good luck!
