Ready to go home – my story

Arrived at 10am and shown to fab, comfy room with en suite at park hill hospital, Doncaster. After about 10 mins nurse came in and checked me over and put arm band on etc then told me what to expect. After about 20 mins the aneathestist came in to see me. Then just after 11 Mr Kazzazi came in to do his artwork and have a last min chat. I asked about having the 410 in both but he insisted they would look odd so he would prefer the 380 and 410 as originally planned (odd boobs). Literally 5 mins after he left there was a knock at the door and someone came to lead me over to theatre. When I left boyfriend behind I felt testy and had a moment of panic but the chap walking me over was really nice and chatted to me to keep my mind off things. In the theatre they put the needle thing in my arm and took blood pressure and pulse etc, then I don’t remember lol so must have gone off really quick when they started the aneasthetic. Was in theatre 2 hours total.

Next I remember coming round in a recovery room and was shaking violently. Was ok and not talking too much gibberish though.

Then they brought me back to room and I dozed on and off till about an hour ago when I had some tea and toast. I vaguely remember Mr K coming in and wishing me well, and a nurse kept taking bp and checking drains etc.

Now waiting for night doctor to check me over after he arrives at 8. If ok to go they will take drains out and we’ll go to hotel. Not looking forward to journey as boobs and arms v sore.

When I came round my arms and shoulders were hurting loads. Calmed down now but still sore. Nurse said it’s because of the way they lay you out on operating table, ouch! Also had v dry mouth! Boobs did not hurt massively tbh, just stretched and v uncomfortable.

Got up to go to loo with great difficulty. Will have to learn the bumshuffle asap methinks!!

Overall had a fab day. Mr K was amazing, my nurse lovely, the room really comfy. Only complaint is that they forgot to order me any dinner then when brought sarnie instead, it was ham (I’m a veggie). So in the end I had toast nut lady who brought it, left on table unbuttered/ spread etc and of course I couldn’t manage to sort it myself so it went cold while waited for boyfriend to come back from ciggie

aww glad your not feeling too bad hunny, and congrats on getting them done. just rest up now ull be fine and loving them in no time. when i was there they forgot to bring me my ice cream and brought a jug of water, clearly i cudnt lift the jug to put water in my glass haha xxx

glad your feeling better- I think I got my monies worth as I was awake after the op till I was discharged and had my bf filling my cups up so had like 10 teas/ 3 orange juices and 2 jugs of water…

– needless to say after forgetting to drink anything in the morning before I had to stop I was thirsty lol.

also had 2x 3 course meals [hence ice cream twice]

glad you all well and have the boobies and yes they’ll be realyl warm for a while- mine still are a bit 2 weeks post feels like sunburn !!

Yeh, theyre hot for a few days hun then I found my skin calmed down a bit, just felt tight, as you swell up post op, it will feel even tighter lol… at the 10 day mark I got the sunburn feeling George talks about and still have it… ouchie!!!!xxxxx

Can’t belive I’m still here at quarter past nine (got here at 10 am and obviously not eaten for 6 hrs before that!). All I’ve had all day is biscuits and 2 rounds of toast!!!!!!

Highgate give you loads – I was in for 11 hours in total as had to wait for surgeon to finish everyone and he came round to check all of the girls.

I’d ask why you don’t get food like highate do?!?

FINALLY at the hotel now, a total of 13 hours and 42 minutes for a DAYCASE!! No real food in over 19 hours. I am throughly disgusted with the way I was treated by park hill. Before the op was timely and professional but after was an effing JOKE! To anyonewith a choice of hospitals, do NOT choose park shitty.

Nursing a hot chocolate right now actually Happy with the boobies so far. They don’t look as small now as I first thought, and all taped up anyway so can’t really tell. Shoulders still hurt, and right boob hurts a bit on the inner edge after she pulled out the drain. I accidentally went to reach across my left side with my right arm earlier and BOY did that hurt LOL. Also made the strangest squishing sound…. They feel very tight and heavy atm but just taken all my meds so hopefully won’t wake up in too much pain.
