Really disappointed in MYA today…

So my admission time for my BA and vaser was 11. At at 1:00 (my partner is fuming by now) we get shown to our room. My PC comes in and explains my op may have to be cancelled as the Anethatist nurse called in sick so operations have only just started. Surley they have contingency plans in place for when this happens! She said it might have to be put back until next week! I can’t take anymore time off work, neither can my partner who has also taken holiday and lost money driving me up and back as I can’t get train due to the vaser on my legs. We’ve paid for parking, hotel and the congestion charge. My partner is going mental and has suggested they cancel other patients who are not having double procedures or who live closer as it took us 3 hours to get here this morning! I’ve paid £ for this I did not expect this happen……we are still here at the moment so who knows! I haven’t eaten since last night either. I can’t believe the shambles !! Xx

Oh god! My worst nitemare! I hope you get it sorted it must be incredibly stressful! X

Thanks Hun. It’s awful I’m nervous as it and it’s totally ruined my experience. My partner is going mad, the nurses haven’t been in my room once since we arrived its a complete joke! We could sit here all day just for it be cancelled when re booking isn’t an option! If it cancelled today , I will just cancel the whole op and take my money . It’s shocking xx

That’s absolutely awful, surely she would have called in sick in the morning, so they’d have known well before 1pm!!

I can’t believe it, I’d it was NHS then yes, but not private!!

Keep us posted, I hope you get your surgery today, but if you don’t I agree, take you’re money and go elsewhere!! xx

Omg Amy that’s not good at all I have my op at the fitzroy tomorrow and I am also travelling up a 3 hour journey xx

Thanks ladies. I know it’s disgusting! It’s bad enough waiting around for consultations and other appoientments but not your actual op! I was excited and scared now I’m just furious! And as you say they could of rung us first thing this morning! It’s like its run by amatures! The nurse has just been in said she is going to talk to the hospital manager…..I would expect the hospital manager to come down here him/her self. We would never get away with it at my workplace….I expect so much more from a private hospital with a supposedly good reputation! Xx

Totally agree Amy keep us posted I am going to give my nurse a call at around 4 today to find out what’s happening tomorrow because no way am I driving up there from cardiff for them to tell me it’s been cancelled xx hope you get sorted soon xx

If it was just my BA I would of cancelled but I had to book a longer time off work for recovery due to the vaser. Ishe said they always schedule the major ops late in the day….I don’t know why the don’t get the major ops done first if they take the longest and carry the risk of complications! Xx

Aw hun thats a disgrace to be honest.. they should have a replacement for when 1 phones in sick.. fingers crossed that it doesnt get cancelled x

Its shocking. Ive had to go all the way to london AGAIN to a completely differnt hospital to have my boobs scanned last friday and still not heard anything back as i need both my boobs drained. I think im starting to get stretch marks on my big swollen boob and that makes me so much more depressed. Ive never been this low in all my life. Im mentally and physically depressed. Xx hope everything is ok x

Just had the nurse come in to tell me my op is still on! But won’t go down till 7 or 8pm this eve! I’m haven’t eaten or drunk since 9 0 clock last night so might have to have a fluid drip! Eugh xx

Thanks ladies. I was throwing a tantrum earlier lol. Just was so nervous and it’s been such a long day already …least I will sleep well hopefully tonight! I have a nice private room so have just been watching TV xx
