I’ve got my op on 22nd Feb, and through reading on here it appears it’s definitely a painful procedure to say the least! My work aren’t being very accommodating …. I work in logistics for a well known fuel provider and we’re in the middle of big changes. They only want me too have two days off of work and then go back in?
Do you reckon this is possible or do you think they are being a bit cruel expecting me back so soon?? All I really do is sit and my desk!! But still I can imagine i’d be in a lot of pain!!! I guess I can but try and if it’s unbearable then at least I can say I made the effort right!?
What are some of your experience with the healing process and pain scales? As everyone is obviously different xxx
I personally think that 2 days will not be enough, you may not feel well enough to sit all day,and to be honest, you need to be in a warm clean environment, you will have just had a surgical procedure,I am not saying your office is not a warm clean environment, but I cant imagine it will not be as comfortable as own your home, where you will have all your personal things around. You need time to recover honey,we are all susceptible to infections, even if we follow the post operative instructions to the latter,I don’t think 2 days is enough, that’s just my opinion,I am not a medical professional,I am basing the advise on my own personal experience,we do all heal at different rates, and manage pain differently, but you have to remember you have had surgery,it may be cosmetic, but it is still surgery honey, you need time to recover.xxxx
I think you’re right
i’m just trying to kid myself so i can keep my work happy!! xxx
You will need at least 7 days to recover enough to go back to work Hun. Two days is far too early to return to work. Xx
i go back to work on the 11th day having overs will this be ok? x
Gem0307 this seems a reasonable length of time. It really depends on what you do for a living and how you feel in yourself Hun. What advice were you given by either your surgeon or nurse? Xx
pc and surgeon said id need a week off but taken an extra couple of days aswell fingers crossed ill b ok xx job entails a bit of heavy liftin (well heavy for me lol only have lil arms) but i know i cant do any of this for 6 weeks so ill b on light dutys anyways (basically sitting there)xx
If you feel fine Hun go for it. All I would say is don’t lift anything heavy and listen to your body. Good luck xx
Everyone heals different but two days wow at least a week I wasn’t in a lot of pain I thought it was going to be really bad but tbh it was more of a discomfort x x
I think i’ll just see how I go too be honest, there’s no way i’m backing out of my operation! I’ve waited too long for it! xxx
I personaly think 2 days is nowhere near enough to recover! I couldn’t even dress or feed myself in 2 days!
See how you feel, but you prabably will end-up ringing in sick. You definitely won’t be able to drive either…
Just take it easy. You are paying lots of money & don’t want to damage your boobs. xx
Hi,
I’m 4 days post op and I’m fine – I’ve been really lucky, and hardly had any pain from day 1 – I didn’t even need pain killers in the day time (night time is always a bit more painful).
I imagine if you’re lucky, you’d be fine physically going back to work 2 days PO (if all you do is sit at a desk and don’t need to move around a lot), but you might still feel a bit mentally drained and tired, so I would try and take as much time out as poss.
If you have to go in to work 2 days PO, I’d recommend taking lots of breaks, take your painkillers regularly, and also take l-glutimine tablets (you can get them from any health food shop e.g. – Holland & Barrett). I took l-glutimine tablets every day (and started pre-op to build it up in my system) and it’s really helped. It helps with fast recovery, especially after operations. Also, drink plenty of water and eat lots of fruit/veg and protein for recovery.
Hope that helps!

at day two i thought i could do loads more then i could, im now on day 12 and still cant do everything, like driving (which deffo puts me out for work), i havent picked my son up since, and still using my arms is hard.
listen to your body, but in my experience i would take more time off if you can xx
