I am am just over 11 weeks post op. Everything has went really well for me until last Sunday, Went to la senza to get measured had been wearing debenhams 30f, got measured at 32f and 32ff, bought myself three new sets feeling really good about myself. I asked if it was alright to keep one on, i changed when i got home a couple of hours later. Next day, i was getting ready to go a mid week break, I started to get really itchy. By the end of the day, my new boobies were very hot with a rash similir to prickly heat all round the area of the bra at the fron and half way round my back. tThe area where the underwire sat was weeping. It really spoiled my week, i was frightned to try an of the other bras although i have worn la senza bras before without any problems. My skin is not usually sensitive the heat has gone a little and its not as angry looking. but my boobs have now got dark red patches all over. waiting for appointment with doctor, do you think i should go back to the shop?any advice appreciated

hello Ali, so sorry to hear this is happening! I haven’t had my op yet so can’t really advise. But, it sounds like a skin irritation. Maybe it’s the material of the bra, or maybe it wasn’t the right size for you.

It could be that your boobs are still going through changes and so the skin sensitivity is only temporary.

I don’t know if this will help you at all – but about a year ago I got exactly what you’re experiencing all over my boobs – severe itching, skin irritation, rashes and bumps all over them. It lasted a month or two, I used soothing creams on them which made it a bit better (got them from the GP). Then it went by itself. Have no idea what caused it, but it was extremely uncomfortable. So it could be like that – just an irritation that will go away by itself.

Either way, your best bet is to have a listen to what the doctor says, and then use any of the appropriate creams etc. Maybe go back to the shop after having a chat with the doctor and hearing what he/she has to say. xxx

Could also be starch or something, try washing it n wearing it again. N take some piriton if it’s itchy xxx

I googled my wee problem turns out there is quite a few comments that people have written in about. Some of these bras have been made in China, apparently Victorias secrets a company which is joined with La Senza had quite a few lawsuits regarding same problems. It was to do with the chemical that was put in the bra to make it crease less. Do not know if its the same but it certainly got me thinking.

The bra felt really comfortable a really good fit,,,it was a cotton underwire bra. The reaction on my skin was exact shape of bra..too much of a coincidence.

Thanks Amanda and Paulova for your suggestions about creams and about the reaction being temporary. I do remember Fairy having a rash…what happened with that…anyone know??
