Hi, I am researching BA and would like to know those of you who have had it done and have small children, how did you deal with recovery?

Hi Hun, how old are your children? I had a 10 month old, 8 yr old and 10 yr old when I had mine and I needed help lifting the little one for about 10 days. Ideally You will need someone with u for at least a week. Xx

I had a ba 10 weeks ago , I have 4 children , 9,6, 3 and 10 months and I was on my own from 4 days post op , it was the school holidays too , and I was fine , just bent down to lift my little boy and held him to my chest rather than lift him from under his arms !! Xx

Hi ladies, I’m having mine BA n TT next month. I have 2 children aged 7 n 5, they r a bit heavy for me to pick them up now anyway, only worry about not being able to look after them properly after surgery. The family might need to put up with some ready meals for a few weeks. xx

Ive been worried about this as I have a 5 year old and an 18 month old. Ive decided to wait a little bit longer for my surgery (aiming for March) as id like my boy to be out of his cot and in a bed (so I wont have to lift him in and out). My boyfriend will take a week off work to help with him and then I think i’ll put him into crèche for a week for the second week. I want to rest and recover as much as possible as im worried about the healing process x

I am only at the very early research stage at the minute and right now my children are 3months and 2 1/2years. I am not planning on going for a consultation until the youngest one is 18months at the earliest (planning to breastfeed until about 12months and then want to give boobs a little bit of time to settle), so she will definitely be out of her cot by the op anyway (good idea, thank you Ria). Will try and get my husband to have two weeks parental leave post op so that he can help.
Stocking up on meals is a good tip too, thank you girls, keep the advice coming please, really helpful.
