Hey girls, just wondered how long you took off work to recover after a BA. I have a very busy job moving around a lot and I’m worried i will need more time off if I go ahead with my BA. Any girls post op how long before u felt back to ‘normal’ again and also are recovery times quicker depending on overs or unders?

It really depends on the individual but normally people are back to their usual activities within just over a week and unders 2 weeks or more as the surgeon has to cut through muscle as well as fat and tissue; also the muscle ‘compresses’ the implant to begin with so it causes more discomfort xx

I took 2 weeks off,I worked in an office so no moving around,I did feel well enough to go back after a week, but took the extra time to make sure I was giving my breasts the best possible chance of healing. When I did go back, boy did I ache for the first few days,if you have a strenuous job I think you may need more time honey.xxx

I took two weeks off I felt like I could’ve gone back to work at day 3 but I wanted to make sure I was healed but even when I’ve gone back and now after almost 1month po they feel sometimes heavy and ache if I lean over too much (I work PT in retail so lots of moving around and being on my feet)

I’d say if you know your job is physical take 3weeks (especially for unders) if you can 2weeks minimum xx

I made sure I saved enough to cover having 2 months off work if necessary then took a month. I felt OK at 3 weeks, but best to let your body recover properly as you have paid a lot of money to chuck it down the drain. Unders take longer than overs xx
