I’ve got one bright purple/red & the other is fainter, more of a silver/purpley colour. I can’t put bio oil on them yet because I still have little scabs on them & also afraid that the bio oil will make them worse not better if they aren’t healed properly. I’m 9 weeks post op btw xx

Every ones skin reacts differently to scarring,if you are worried give the nurse a call,im sure she will give you an appointment to have them checked out for your own peace of mind.

I’m 2 months post op and my scars are the same, one scar is more red than the other.. They aren’t raised at all just red round the edges.. Also still have alot of numbness underneath my nipples to my scars and my right nipple almost has no feeling at all still :-/ I’m guessing it’s still early days.. X

Totally still early days, I’m three months po and still have stitches coming to the surface! They havnt broken the skin so I’m still using bio oil or I use dermatix scar gel and silicon strips which seem to help but you need to wait til scabs have healed before using either. They say it takes a year for them to settle so 8 weeks is very early.

Mine feel settled then I’ll have a day wen my left boob is cold or numb then fine the next day! Just the nerves settling xx

I agree with Natalie I am 4 months PO and my scars were quite angry looking but have faded a little, have got lighter, although I noticed the other day they were looking a bit red again, think its due to my bra. I could still feel stitches for a few months too and also mine were feeling really heavy over the weekend. Could also be due to lack of sleep and being a bit run down that they start to hurt but I think all of this is normal.

I havent used anything on my scars yet, not sure when is safe to. But used cocoa butter & bio oil on the actual skin of my breasts to help with any stretch marks.

I have to admit mine have slightly been in the sun on holiday and on sunbeds and in a weird way I think it actually helped fade them! Not that I would sit in direct sunlight with them just yet.
