At the mo, we don’t know what MYA will go for in terms of putting up cash, if they offer a good enough reason for us to promote and we’re all happy with what they offer, their PR team will have some input into what goes on the vests I guess so we’re going to wait until the Manager replies to me on monday and take it from there xx

I just wanted to let you know about an issue that has been raised on the Newcastle night out thread. We feel as though handing out flyers is going to be a bit cheeky. If I was on a night out (pre op) and handed a flyer promoting plastic surgery I’d be pretty darn offended. I personally don’t mind wearing the vests etc but I’m thinking from a safety aspect I wouldn’t want to do full on promotion. I’m organising the Newcastle event and I wouldn’t want to be held responsible for any agro. Newcastle on the whole is a great night out but there are people who go out looking for a fight.

What do you girls think? Like I said in Newcastle thread, I would floor anyone who started anything but I wouldn’t want to hurt my precious new boobs!

We’ll see what MYA come back with though before deciding on anything. Xx

I don’t mind wearing a vest top promoting mya but I don’t want to hand out flyers 1) it’s a night out and 2) I’d want paying for that lol x

That’s a really good point about the flyers – I’d be so pissed off and take it quite personally if I was handed one! There’s people looking for a fight wherever you go. I think most people will agree there and it might not be worth our while doing if that way.

Maybe the website could be on the vest – however they increase in cost with more letters.

Maybe the PR team will have some other ideas xx

Hiya girls, noone has said anything about handing out flyers as far as I’m aware and I don’t want anyone doing anything that we’re not comfortable with.. if at any point you would all prefer for us to sack of the promoting and give up rights to any freebies, we can do that.. it was only an idea xxxx

Hey Blondie, someone mentioned in one of the threads it might be a good idea to promote the forum itself somehow like with flyers or something.

Let’s see what’s on the table on Monday ie what they want us to do and what they’re offering in return and we can then carry out a poll of sorts to see what people want

I’m getting a bit worried that i’m going to upset people by involving MYA and i never intended to do that to anyone at all, i just suggested us all going out as we all get on and have supported each other, I hope noone is offended or upset. The flyers idea was not something i would be prepared to do myself and want to enjoy the night out not work for MYA xxx

oh i know, you didn’t upset me at all, i just don’t want anyone to be worried that there is any pressure to do something like that. I am totally the same, i wouldn’t dream of giving out flyers, i didnt know anyone had suggested it. When they come back on Monday i’ll let everyone know and then people can say what we are and are not comfortable with before we agree to anything. xxxx

I love made in mya, or maybe made by mya would make more sense? I think the surgeons name on the back and maybe the date of your op would be fab too like someone else suggested. Perhaps putting a web address on the tops would be enough for people to ask what we’re doing then u wouldn’t need flyers x x
