does the surgeon have to suggest these implants or can i just request them?? also what are the sizes between 400-525??xx
Hi Charlotte,
I just asked my surgeon (Gary Trainer) at my consultation if i could have these and he was all for them.
He told me the size was 420 or 475cc thats all i was offered so not sure wot other sizes they do.
I have gone for them as they as softer and FDA approved.
hiya, what are these responsives?? do you have to pay more? x
yes you do, think they’re suppose to look more natural, that’s why i want them, but i didn’t know about them until after my consultation and i think i want to get them x
Yes girls they cost £308 more but are much softer and natural looking that CUI’s.
I chose them as they are FDA approved whereas the CUI’s are not andcome with a lifetime guarantee.
Let me c if i can get some info …. hold on
Cuks- i have been offered 410 cui hp or 400 responsives extra full projection. Did you have extra full projection?
Hi Joanne yes i was offfered the high profile textured responsives in 420.
I HOPE THIS HELPS
“Allergan CUI’s are basically their ‘basic implants’. They’re good quality and come EU approved with a kite mark but they are not FDA approved (so safe to use over here but not in America- unsure why!!) They are strong and made of cohesive gel (so they don’t leak into the breat tissue if they rupture) but their rates of rupture are at about 5%, and they come with a manufacturer’s guarantee of only 10 years. So basically after 10 years if anything happens to them you have to fork out for more surgery AND new implants.
Allergan also produce Inspira ‘Responsive’ and ‘Soft touch’. Both are FDA and EU approved with a kite mark and they also both have a LIFETIME guarantee with the manufacturer. So even after your surgeon’s after care runs out, you will be covered to a certain degree with these. So if at any point in your life, they rupture or need replacing after capsular contraction for example, the cost of replacement implants will be free plus they contribute £700 towards the cost of replacing the implant. You can don’t have to have exactly the same size next time either (i think yoiu can go up of down one size when you change the implants)
The difference between them in terms of cost is I an extra £308 for responsive and £461 for soft touch. The rupture rates for both is about 1% and the main difference between them is how they feel. They are better quality (hence why you are paying more).
I’ve chosen Responsive as they behave like your breast tissue and drop slightly to look more natural, whereas soft touch feel natural, but stay put high in the chest”

I looked at these but was told that capsular contracture was only covered for 3/5 years depending on aftercare package and that only rupture is covered for the lifetime. Does anyone else know about this?
Just had a look on their website and it says the following is covered;
Lifetime implant replacement cover for loss of shell integrity resulting in implant rupture
Doesn’t seem like capsular contracture is covered. I think rupture is the least likely to happen. I saw mr traynor on Tuesday and he said he was told by allergan to promote the natrelle responsive and soft touch as the premium product and CUI as the basic product. His response was that he wouldn’t do that because he’d used CUI for 15 years and had minimal problems. He also said the natrelle range is quite new and there isn’t enough evidence to prove they are premium at the moment. I was all for them before he said this and my pc has also advise CUI.
Confusing eh! X
How strange Jessica he was all for me going for them – maybe cause of my age I am 40…. lol maybe he was having a confused day too…
Yeah I think like you say, everyone wants different results and will depend what you have to start with in what you need to achieve end results. I’d like to think they will honestly recommend the best product. I saw a different surgeon who would only use natrelle but his method was too odd for me to book him – he didn’t let you pick the size and he used dozers once you’re on the op table to see what he thought looked the best on the day. Like who’s going to let them pick your size! X
That’s meant to say ‘sizers’ not dozers! Predictive text on my phone!
