Rhinoplasty 18th October

Hiii so I finally had it done but haven’t felt any pain at all is that normal? I was also wondering if everyone had packing as I didn’t I just have dressing taped under my nose? Also wondering how long it will take for bleeding to stop, am I able to clean some of the dried blood yet? xx

Hey hun, well done you, see it isn’t that bad at all.

Right well maybe you didn’t need packing so there was no need for it, be happy hun, that was one of the worst bits for me. I had dried blood too but I did not attempt to clean it gently with a damp cotton bud until about day 5. Best to leave it for now as the inside of your nose will be healing so best not to irritate it I say.

I didn’t have any bleeding just the dried blood so I’m not sure about that one. Happy Healing! xx

Do you reckon I should phone the office because it’s really uncomfortable? I’ve just had to peel the towel from under my nose as was stuck by dried blood, but the dried blood on the outside is whats hurting a little well not hurting but annoying xx

good luck. i never had packing. and the bleeding stopped around 4 days for me. and the dry blood i managed to do mine from the inside around 1 week but u got to be carfull the stitches arnt stuck to any of the blood i had no pain or black eyes hope it all goes well for u hun xx

Omg driving me mad haha as I can feel bubbles of blood! Did you find it hard brushing your teeth? I can’t do my top ones! xx

I personally didn’t have any problems brushing my teeth or bubbles of blood but of course everybody is different. If you are worried or have any concerns call the nurse at your local MYA clinic, I found mine so helpfull. My mouth felt numb for a bit, I felt a bit like a goldfish. hehe. My dry throat and lips drove me mad though. xx

yeah my lip didnt lift up so i cudnt reach the top of my teeth it was numb and dead for weeks xx

Yeah phoned them but dont wanna mivar lol finally cleaned my nose up! But now I’ve noticed like a yellow swelling lol well it looks like a yellow head inside my nostril sorry to be so crude but do you reckon that’s what it is or could it be skin that wasn’t sewn right?cos it could just be a flap I dunnoooo lol xx

ull have to show the nurse at ur 1 week check i wudnt worry tho. xx

I had yellow swelling in my nose – Had such a panic about it…But dont worry – all went back to normal after a few days …if you have any concerns phone the nurse even if its just for reassurance! My worst day of healing was prob the first day back home but i think that was cuz i was so tired as didnt sleep at all in the hospital although didnt really have any pain in my nose, just a headache.
