Rhinoplasty advice please!

Hi! I’m new here and I’ve been considering getting my nose done for at least a year.. It’s just been something that I’ve always had an issue with and I’ve recently gotten the guts to start researching and taking the first step.. I had my first consultation a few days ago with Sam in Brighton and she was lovely!

I’ve been reading through all the bits on here about everyone’s experiences.. and basically everyone who had Dr Gonschoir seemed really happy with him? I have another different surgeon consultation booked in, but am going to try and get one for Dr G too. Do you all recommend him?

And how was your recoveries? Any bad experiences? One of my bigger worries is after coming out and you’ve got the packing in and having to breathe through your mouth and the pain! But I know it will all be worth it in the end..

I wanted to try and get the operation and recovery in by the end of September as I’m starting uni then. I’ve always been self conscious about it, especially in photos and in front of people that aren’t my family.. Just thought it was about time I started to do something about my worries

Hiya kat. I had my noe done with mr.gonschoir in april this year and I have not looked bk since!! If its not something u can live with and is stopping u from doing things then u should considerat it. I’m not someone who will say go for it because not everyone needs it and its a big thing. We would all like it if we were happy with our selves and didn’t have to consider this kind of thing. Unfortunately its not always the case. I would say that I needed about a month of work, I was still really swollen when the cast came of and was still sensitive etc. U need as long as possible!! Don’t worry bout the breathing thing, I thought that same thing as well, but honestly, I was actually able to breathe out my nose, the packaging is only a bit of tissue. Literally. So u can breathe through ur nose. The way they went about it I thought it would be these massive thng up my nose. I had a really dry mouth and that was the thing that got to me out of everything! Haha!! If u want to know ANYTHING at all, even if u think it sounds stupid, just ask me. I had a lot of weird qsts!!! I’m 22 and have wanted one since I was 12. It affected my daily life, that’s why I got mine done. By the sounds of things I’m not sure if u are 100% sure if this is something that u really want and its just a thing that u don’t like but can live with. If that makes sense lol… I may be completely wrong though. I hope I helped u a bit and remember to ask me. I will be honest xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi Kat,

I had mine done with Dr G in July and was very lucky with swelling etc. I looked normal as soon as my cast came off. Yes, my nose was swollen, but if you didn’t know me you’d never know I’d done anything. Everyone is different though as obviously Katie above, needed longer to recover. You can never tell. If you add me you can see my album before and after pics (day the cast came off) and then a couple of weeks after cast came off. The packing is the least of your worries and I had no pain whatsoever. Looked dreadful after surgery but bruising was gone within a week. I’d say the worst part for me was not being able to breathe properly ( I still can’t now even 4 weeks post surgery) and wearing the cast because it irritated me. No pain though I promise! I have on my album hun, my scar is hardly noticable already and its only been 15 days !! I will upload another one soon just of the scar xx

Will have them up by this evening for you, My breathing isnt back at normal 100% but I am breathing through my nose now not my mouth ..

Sort of feels like I have a cold, which is annoying as I cant blow my nose yet I dont think . being using a nasal spray which helps though x

Katie – Yeah, part of me thinks I still need time to think everything through fully and save up (not have to worry about a loan then) and do it after university.. I wish I had done it sooner really! Glad the breathing thing isn’t that major but it’s different with everyone, I guess. Did you have any problem with sneezing? That would be my weird question for you! lol

Lor – Just friend requested you Good to know the pain is minimal.. I’m mainly worried something will go wrong, but I’ve heard so many great things about Dr. G on here.. If I did get it done, I’d definitely go with him. How’s your breathing now? Are you breathing through your nose? Are you sleeping okay? That’s another mini worry!

Sneezing wasnt bad at all for me actually I made such a fuss about it after I sneezed I was like oh is that it… I used to always sneeze through my mouth anyhow you will be fine !

Yawning felt more weird for me I was trying so hard not too, or pulling funny faces and yawning ! xx

I had open and meg did too. I could breathe through my nose for a while after, but then got a cold and haven’t been able to again for the last week or so Sleeping fine though. Accepted your request so you can see pics x

I am having open too with Dr Gonschoir, I think open is better when there’s a bit more work to be done as the surgeon can see more… Lorlor- I hope you feel better soon xx

Lorlor – just saw your pics and your nose looks amazing! You’re right, you’d never notice the swelling at all, I didn’t! It looks perfect Hope you start feeling better soon though! xx

I am also looking in to having rhinoplasty and unsure of what surgeon to have…I have heard Mr. Gonschoir is good? Would be really great to see pictures of results if possible xx
