I am booked in to have 340cc overs this Saturday.

Are there any girls on here who have had implants who still run or jog?

I love running, and do a lot of 10K races, and am wondering if it is something that I am going to have to give up after my BA?

I would love to hear from any one who knows about this, or who has post op experience of jogging or running with new boobs.

    Thanks

Well, I am about 10 weeks post op after implants and uplift hun and I started running just last week. As long as you wear a good sports bra you will be absolutely fine. I asked my surgeon about it and he literally said “just put your sports bra on and get on with it, no excuses!” I have to say my boobs hurt a wee bit the next day after the first run, but have been fine since, so you’ll be grand huni! xxx

I hope I can still run after having 410s. I worry that running will pull on them and make them sag haha x

i do alot of running on the treadmill 4 times a week in the gym and i have no problem, i do interval training on it, so walking, running and sprinting, i dont feel any different doing it than i did pre opp, only diffrence is i have to wear a sports bra to keep them in place, i recommend the nike ones they are awesome for training, oh ye and i started back at 4.5 weeks post opp xx

I’m glad somebody asked this question as I also do 10K runs and don’t want to give up my running either!

My patient consultant did also say that hers don’t move when she’s running (with a good sports bra) so should be fine.

    Hi Girls

Thanks for all your feed back. It is reassuring to hear that I can still keep covering the miles with my new girls! I’m not aiming to be an athlete or any thing… just love to go out running to clear my head, and I really enjoy the nerves of doing 10K races.

    Great stuff then!

Bring on the sports bra… and the 30th!

    Thanks

I can’t wait to get back to my running but still feels too early for me (5 weeks tomorrow since op). I’m back at gym just doing bike and cross trainer and hoping to run again in a couple of weeks. Can’t wait!!! X

I don’t jog, but often go on 5-6 mile walks pushing double buggy(uphill & through woodland alot of the time). Is this more harmful to your boobs as it’s pushing a weight also? My husband has a week off work post op, but have to push my boys around in buggy after this as I don’t drive & will go insane if I am house bound! Any advice appreciated xx

    Hi Katiejo87

I think this is definitely a question for your PC and/or surgeon. I’ve no specific knowledge on this and haven’t even had my op yet (!) but I’m guessing it will be a disaster to to be pushing two boys around after just one week – the position of your arms and the effort required – it can’t be OK can it?

And given the downside, if it causes an issue, i’d make sure to ask before doing it.

Katie, I’m 5 weeks post op and my nurse won’t even let me go on a cross trainer because it’s using my arms. I just think that’s ridiculous and I’ve been on the cross trainer this morning. I don’t know how she expects me to get back to my usual fitness level if I can’t even do that at 5 weeks. x

Aww Rita, I wish I was running. Did your scars hurt a bit at first? Mine tend to sting a little sometimes. The nurse says they are fully closed up and fine so I can’t understand why she’s saying to still take it easy till I’m 8 weeks post op. I came away from the gym this morning having done half an hour on the cross trainer and feeling it was pretty pointless and that I may as well not have bothered. I’m used to doing quite heavy running and weights sessions and a spell on the cross trainer just doesn’t inspire me. x

I came out of her office and Julie and Amy were waiting to have a chat with me and said oooh you’ll be able to wear bras in a week’s time! I said ‘no, the nurse says I have to wait till 8 weeks and they just looked at me as if to say ‘strange’. x

Hi Rita. I wouldn’t worry, it’s just my nurse (Jenny) being overly cautious. If I’d seen the other practice nurse I’m sure she would have said I’d be fine to start wearing normal bras at 6 weeks.

I’m wearing shock absorber bras at the gym and they are there’s no way my bazookas can move an inch in them, they’re great. I’m going to get out on my bike tomorrow morning and possibly stick with that till I can get back to my running. My gym isn’t the most inspiring of gyms – it’s a proper body builder gym and I can feel people looking at me funnily in the gym as if to say ‘what’s she bothering being here for, she’s doing nothing’. x

Shock Absorber is the make. You can get them at most department stores. They’re expensive but the best. I got a 2 pack for £39. They’ll last forever too. x
