scabby incisions at 4.5 weeks p.o?

My incisions are still scabby at 32 days post op, should they not be almost healed now? It’s at the ends of the incisions I have big holes. My surgeon picked away at them at 3 weeks p.o though cos I had stitches protruding so he pulled them out but they don’t seem to be getting any better, couldn’t begin to imagine putting bio oil on them next week at 6 weeks post op! xxx

Everyone heals differently babe. I’m 6 weeks PO and one of mine is still bright red and raised…the other is really faded but still has a red bit where my drains were. I’ve seen other people’s pics where they look completely healed after a week. I doubt I’ll be told I can wear underwired bras at my PO check because I’m a slow healer! xx

Get yourself some savlon wound wash, spray it on after your shower, leave it for a few mins to sink in and then blow dry your scars on a low setting. You scabs will be gone in no time and you shouldn’t get infected either xx

Savlon Wound Wash spray was my godsend – i used it from 7 days post op to 7 weeks post op xx healed perfectly x

I’ve used savlon wound wash ever since they had the steristrips off & started getting wet xxx

My scabby things came off after i put plasters on them lol i had a cheeky sunbed at 3 weeks po an covered my scars with plasters an when i peeled them off the scabs came off with them i was scared because i imagine there meant to come off when there ready, im not sure at what stage they fall off on there own everyones prob different. i havent used any oils or sprays on my insicians an there really light! i dont personally think u need them xx

I’ve got big holes at either end of mine which are just all scab & you can tell it’s deep & not just the top layer they don’t look as though they’re going to heal any time soon, it just looks as though I haven’t been stitched up all the way to the end xxx

My one incision is still open at the ends at post 6wks. I told the nurse at my 6 wk check and she said they looked fine. Few days later there was yellow stuff coming out. Went back to mya, she put dressings on and said no shower for 3 days. She said it was because the stitches are knotted at either end and they don’t dissolve so well. Got plasters on mine as well now. Just praying they close up at some point. X

I think that seems a really long time to still b scabby?! I was completely closed at 6 day check with one tiny scab on left side. Hopefully that will b gone tomorrow wen steri strips come off too xx

That sounds like mine @xxvickyfxx ! Are you allowed to wear underwired bras yet or not?? xxx
