    Evening ladies,

I am now 6 weeks post op and feeling amazing. I love my new girls!

I can’t tell whether my incisions are healing well or not. I think they are but what do I know haha

I think the nurse said the lighter the better as in red/pink is good but mine are looking a tad purple. I’ll try and attach pics so you can see.

Anyone elses incisions like this??? What can I do to lighten them?

I’m a nurse so seen plenty of wounds in my time and they look perfect. I would imagine they will start to get lighter. Some people do go a but purple and that’s fine it depends on your natural skin tone. Some will go brown etc before going paler I wouldn’t worry. They look lovely and neat and look like they are now right in the crease. I will be really pleased if mine look like that at 6 weeks.

They’re sooo neat hun and look great! Not bumpy at all the colour looks fine too! Mine haven’t changed much compared to your colour ans I’m 11 wpo. Ive ordered some silicone scar gel called kelo cote that my surgeon reccomended to help reduce the colour fxx

Thank you so much @louiangel you’ve been so helpful and very reassuring. I was thinking of getting back on the sunbeds once a week as I wanted to get my base tan ready for my hol but the nurse said that the sunbeds could darken my incisions which made me look and question them this eve. The nurse said even if I cover my incisions on the sunbed they could still be effected. I’m now super worried.

@fran32 thanks so much, my nurse did mention something about silicone gel and also said I could apply vitamin E cream. I think I’ll have to go buy some bits. I hope your recovery has been ok.

Your welcome hun! You can get the kelo cote silicone gel with spf in it which is great as u said ur goin on holiday soon! Tur nurse is totally right about covering not helping because uva/b rays can still get through fabric and it’s better to be safe than sorry l. Treat ur incisions like baby skin (factor 50) for the first year then after that ur plain sailing.

It’s so annoying though as I really can’t wait to book a holiday and get into a bikini!!!

My journey has been great so far really pleased with my results and just wana help as many other girls as I can! I got lots of support before, during and after my op so I try to give back to the community as much as possible. I waited a decade to do mine loool fxxx

One of the cheapest places I found it online was https://livebetterwith.com/products/kelo-cote-scar-gel-15g/

It’s a site that specialises in products for cancer patients I only realised while checking the product reviews but it has a really good rating for making the scars less noticeable compared to others they sell. My surgeon reccomended it in comparison to dermatix because kelo cote has a less tacky formula that dries quicker.

Otherwise boots do it for about 30 quid online fxx
