Scars

So I’m 9 days post op and just taken my post op dressings off, as advised by the nurses and to give my scars a clean with antibacterial wash and OMFG I am devastated at how bad they actually are…ok they are neat BUT one has a thick line of tight skin above it and the other one looks like the stitches were pulled too tight and there’s bumpy skin either side of it, which i don’t think will ever settle down! I cannot see how they can be so bad and look so horrific! I can’t even show you pic’s because i’ve now recovered them as i don’t even want to look at them !! Does the skin eventually settle down or will it forever stay bumpy and have a think line above it? x
