Second Rhinoplasty?

Hi there,

I had a closed rhinoplasty last september…Although I am happy with the results, I would have liked more off the tip. Has anyone else had a second rhinoplasty and how long do you have to wait till you can go ahead…I am 3 months post op.. Thank you XX

Not spoken to Dr G about it yet, but i’m seriously considering it…My tip still feels very hard and numb so Im not sure if its still swollen but being 3 months i thought most of the swelling would have gone by now xx Thank you xx

I was told 4 months at least honey,its a long time I know,but that’s what he said to me,you could mention it at your next review if you are not happy honey,xxx

I remember reading somewhere it was a year because your nose has to be stable before they re-operate. I honestly think your nose looks fab, I haven’t had my cast off yet but that’s my main concern if the tip is still too big.

I don’t think your swelling would have completely gone by now and the tip is always the last thing to go down, so I would hang tight. Maybe speak to Dr G at your next consult. xxx

I think it he said four months for 80% of the swelling to subside, but a year for end result,xx

Just looked at your pics hmariez,and your nose is beautiful,it is a lot smaller than your old nose and looks perfect on your face,what dont you like about it honey,xxxx

Sometimes we look so closely we can not see what’s right in front of us,take a real good look at your old pictures honey,there is no way that is going back to your old nose,and the tip looks smaller,look at your old nose from where the nostrils start to the tip,then look at your new one,I have all these emotions to face when my cast comes off,Im hoping Im prepared for the swelling and the size and shape to change over the next few months,so I can sort of understand where you are coming from,we have a picture in our minds of exactly what we want our noses to look like,but how do we know that the nose we choose is actually going to suit us,we have looked at our old noses for so long,and change will take a while to adjust to,because its not your old nose.I think you look beautiful,I think your new nose enhances your lovely face,give it a little more time honey,before you decide you want to change it.xxx

Everyone does it, everyone is insecure about something and maybe cos of spending so many years insecure about ur nose it’s easy to go back and start being critical about it again as it was a big part of ur life? Hmariez, there is no way 100% that your nose is like your old nose, honestly it looks fab. I pushed for open with mr G even though he said closed at my 1st consult because I knew I wanted a very small nose, which I don’t think is possible with closed.

I know we never believe what people tell us but you look gorgeous with your new nose, and it really suits you. We are always more critical of ourselves though and its about what you thinnk. Speak to Mr G I’m sure he will be able to offer advice xxx

Babe I agree with the others, the pics of your new nose gave me the confidence to book mine, because I think its turned out so nice. You will only know yourself though as it’s such a personal thing. I’m sure Dr G said to me if you aren’t happy with your nose first time around then he will do again for free, you should check with MYA. x

Hun, I think you might be able get a revision if you are really not happy. But if your tip is still really numb and hard that’s defo a sign that the swelling is still there. I think you would probably have to wait until about 8-9 months after the op. Babe, talk to your pc and see if you can get an appointment with DR G asap. Don’t be down honey…you do look gorgeous. I think I focus that much on my nose that it looks weird and odd to me and look at it as a individual aspect without taking the rest of my face into account. No one notices ive had anything done though so I worry that it does look exactly the same but maybe people dont focus on noses as much as i think lol..

I asked for my tip to only be reduced slightly because I was scared I would end up with a piggy nose. Really wish i’d pushed for open too..

I honestly think if it was any smaller it would look odd and out of proportion. It really does look great, and I love your side pic! The fact that not many people have noticed probably indicates how natural it looks and what a good job Mr G has done. You look beautiful! Your nose looks so flat from the front in that new pic! However if its really bothering you then def talk to Mr G again and see what your options are. Your happiness is important, but I do think your nose is perfect for your face xxx

Sometimes people do not notice or see the imperfections that you see, because they love you for who you are,and unless you point it out to them, people who love you will think your original nose was fine,it was your nose it suited your face part of your character.When you have your new nose,and compare it with your old nose you will see a difference,but others may not,as you are still you,the person they love and care about,they may say there is something different about you,and I cant figure out what it is,especially if they do not know you have undergone a procedure,the important thing is that it has made a difference to you,and looking at your pictures I can see a big difference.I think you are still healing the swelling will fluctuate,so 3 months is no time at all,plus you are looking at your nose all the time so you will be getting used to it,what you see now will not be the end result honey,I only hope when my cast comes off I can practice what I preach,hang in there lovely,you look beautiful.xxx

I am really worried I’m gonna feel like this after op as I’m having closed and I’m worried mr g won’t be able to take enough off the tip and I’ll have a smal nose and long tip.. Going back to see him to discuss! But hmariez I can honestly say that your tip does not look top big and is in complete proportion to the rest of your nose!! It must be difficult hun but you have to remember it will keep changing up to a year and you are only three months post op! I think you should de give it more time and then if your still not happy then consider your options babe, but your nose honestly looks perfect xxxxxx

Your tip takes the longest to heal (a year in all). The bridge heals the quickest and takes approx. 3 months. I had surgery 6 months ago and I still have swelling in the tip and it’s numb. It’s all part of the process. I thought the same as you and still think the tip of my nose is quite big and also thought my old nose was growing back. It’s all psychological. Give it a year and if you’re still not happy, then go and chat to Dr. G. You’re only 3 months post op and it’s still very fragile, hang in there hun x

I really noticed a difference between 3 – 6 months. My friends and family have as well. I’ll be sitting watching the telly and someone will be staring at my nose and blurt out how much it’s gone down. The first 4 months, the tip of my nose was quite bulbus from the swelling, but it has slimmed down a lot. It’s still swollen now and a little bit numb, if you touch it, it feels like a tingly sensation, but it’s going over time. Just have to very patient and can’t wait for that year mark! I will put some pics up soon, haven’t had a camera out in a while!! Think the last pic of 4 months post op xx
