septorhinoplasty with Dr.G..

Hi everyone,

I’ve booked a consultation with Dr.G (december) to discuss and show pictures of the nose i want, and to see what is possible. It is going to cost me £5450 altogether!! I am saving atm, and hopefully ill have all the money in the next few months. I just wanted to know what the surgeon is like, what to expect from the consultation and any questions that are worth asking? Also, if you had him as your surgeon, do you like your new nose and are you satisfied with the level of care you received?

Hi there, I had my open rhinoplasty with Dr G just over 3 weeks ago and I couldn’t be happier… He was very patient and understanding in my first consultation and we even laughed about my nose (the old one) he’s great, honestly I am really happy that I went to him for my rhinopalsty, and to MYA and I would def recommend to my friends and family should they ever require any sort of facial surgery. My nose is getting smaller by the day and it looks great with my other features. The nurses in London are all lovely especially Helen who I have mainly had dealings with and my PC Amanda is also very sweet, honest and professional,and the receptionists at Holborn are totally ace! I would go back to MYA for any future surgeries should I ever require them. xx

I had closed rhinoplasty with Dr G 3 wks ago!! I’m so happy. My nose is better than I could have wished for! Don’t know how he does it, he really is a genius! He is such a lovely man aswell, so friendly and takes time to listen to all your concerns. Post op my nurse has been very good. She phoned me the day after surgery and I have seen her twice for general check ups!

I would def say you are in good hands with Dr G, I would recommend him to everyone!

A septo rhino is more expensive than a closed orr open rhino. xx

What did you have done Eliza? I want my bump removed, tip lifted with a little curve and generally made smaller. It’s do weird, cos I’ve become obsessed with noses recently! I just can’t wait to get it done!!

Hush2, a septo rhino is more complicated procedure- therefore, it costs more!

I was asked if I wanted the septo done by the nhs for free, but they said they couldn’t do anything to the shape! So decided to do it privately and get both done together. xx

You won’t regret it glamxo Dr G is really good and I am really pleased with mine, best money I have litterally ever spent! xxx

I’m having open septorhinoplasty with Dr G too, on the 10th december!

I was shocked as well with the cost… being a recent graduate and not earning much it was a nightmare trying to work out how to do it, but thats where supportive parents and loans come in i guess… i also have been to see my GP a total of 3 times now, and they said the same, they could fix my deviated septum but would not alter any appearance, but they are as equally important for me!

Dr G is so lovely as well, he showed me what it would look like by using his finger and a mirror lol, and i had to say whether i preferred it with more of a curve or straight, and i went for straight with a very slight indent.He explained all the possible implications and so on and obvs knows what he is doing.. hes even had a nose job himself!

When are you planning on having surgery?

I really hope all this money is worth it! I’ve wanted this for so long.

Thank you, nose is still a bit fragile, and a bit swollen (which is more apparent in the morning or when im rushing about) but apart from that feel quite normal…desperate to go back to the gym tho.

Have u managed to change the date for your op then?…. Yey you can do both now x I’m dreading graduation…it will be busy and dont want my nose getting knocked lol xx

Yes he has had a nose job, he told me he broke his nose skiing so had to have one but in actual fact he said his nose was better before, shame he couldn’t do his own rhinoplasty eh ladies… the ruddy genius that he is it would have been perfectomundo I’m sure! hahaha xxx

yeah they told me that dr G had given two more dates so 10th december… it feels a long way off, and my cast will come off a few days before xmas! nice xmas prezzie i guess… just want it to hurry up now! i wish i could have a new nose for grad pic, but oh well… i guess will be the last formal pic with my old nose! end of uni end of old nose… lol.

Has your swelling in general gone down considerably? im worried ill have it done then feel depressed cuz i dont see a difference or something, or itll be so swollen… also do you feel like your life has changed at all? like you acting differently/people treating you differently?

sorry for all the q’s, quite excited as the finance has been sorted today!

im gonna be paying back too much than i can afford really…hopefully the stress will be worth it!

haha yeah i was gonna say imagine if dr g had done his own nose! im glad he hadnt as it didnt look as though he had lol. but yeah littlechelle i reckon he could do his own and be under general anaesthetic!

Aww thats well good, so pleased. At least you dont have to miss it now . I’m dreading what people at uni will say…or if they even notice at all haha.

Yep will be a nice xmas pressi, I had my cast off day after my birthday…so was also like a pressi hehe.

The swelling is only visible to me and if i point it out to others…otherwise no one can tell at all! Dont worry Dr G knows exactly what he’s doing … You wont be depressed either lol…

Life hasnt changed at all to be honest…i forget ive had it done…keep standing in positions so people cant see my profile then i realise i dont have to do it anymore haha…but otherwise no, no one treats my any different.. Guess i feel a lot better in myself when i see my nose. Especially when trying on clothes in shops..They always have mirrors that go all around and it really bothered me when i could see a proper view of my profile in them, now when i go in im like yey that horrible thing has gone

Kind of contradicted myself there, yes my life has changed, i’m a lot happier but no one treats me any different and not many people have noticed xx

I feel fantastic now that the cast is off, It’s ace!! but only because my nose was just so much bigger before. it wasn’t just a bump it was the tip and the massive hook thing. anyway I love it now and I feel massively more confident and it’s getting better everyday, I’m really loving it. And now I don’t mind people seeing my profile… so great!!! It’s such a natural looking nose for me that hardly anyone has gone omg, you have had your nose done… hehehe xxx

aw thanks girls, is exactly what i want to acheive… not have people be like omg youve had a nose job but to feel happy and confident in myself and not have to feel so concious of it all the time… ive just qualified as a teacher of english as a foreign language and when i was training i was concious of it when teaching and im off to japan next year to work and they all have littlenoses and call westerners big noses as it is so i wanted it done before then! would be nice to go out and not feel like the ugly one… even though i know its not true exactly, im just so self concious… well you know what i mean. would be so great to like my face! I like the rest of it… just always have to have my hair down n stand in certain positions as well!

so the 10th december cant come quick enough!

i need the bump sorting out and dr g wants to reduce the overall size and turn up my tip a little more. he knows what hes doing! SO EXCITED! yaaaay this is happening! finally!!

Haha i did this too Hallix but in all honesty, youll be asleep and you wont know whats what. Im having closed rhino on the 1st dec… Cant come quick enough for me i am soooooo excited!!! xxx

oh yaay! at least you get closed! lol if thats actually any better haha. i cant wait n then on the ither hand im like waaat am i doing! hehe. its all so crazy…im 9 days after you! :)im excited too! but more excited for a few weeks ater when the cast comes off lol i just wish i could bypass all the stuff before! but who knows… maybe itll add to the experience haha xxx

Hi Glamxo! I’m having the same exact surgery also with Dr. G in a few days time. From my consultation with him & general research, he’s a fantastic surgeon, really friendly, honest & he put me at ease. So excited for my surgery! You couldn’t be in better hands

Honestly ladies, he really he is a great surgeon. My nose was a huge on my face, like a plum tomato, now it’s lovely and normal and I’m constantly allowing people to see me side on, you will love your new noses, he is a genius! xxx

My cast is off on Saturday girlies, will let you all know what I think. Very scary. Were you really anxious littlechelle? Is the unveiling really bizarre? Xx

Thank you for all your replies girlies! I feel sooo relieved now . Hallix, i am in exactly the same situation as you!! Its so weird. Im in my 3rd year of uni and i graduate next year. Just want to start a new chapter of my life feeling confident about the way i look. I saved alot of my student loan by living at home, and working. I just can not wait to get rid of the ugly one i have now. Just makes me feel SOO insecure, even when ive put effort into looking nice, done my hair and makeup- my nose is one thing that brings me right down.

Does anyone know how long after you can go abroad after having surgery? I really want to go travelling next summer too. Ahhh, too much to do in such little time!

u can fly aftert 6 weeks i think to be safe but prob be ok after 2! just keep nose out of sun as skin is very sensitive and will burn!! xx
