Hey girls is there any benefits to staying overnight after surgery? Is there anyone who didnt stay overnight but wishes they had? For me theres a difference of £450 in the cost of going home the same day and staying overnight which is quite alot of money and im not sure if i can justify that money as its cheaper to stay in a hotel up the road xx

I am going as a day case. There’s no need to pay to stay overnight as if you are a day case and need to stay, they will keep you in free of charge. Also, there are a few hotels nearby that are so much cheaper, if you want to stay close to the hospital xx

    Hi hun

I was only a day case and I stayed in the Raglan Hotel which was about 8 mins from the hospital. Personally I dont see what extra benifits you get by paying £450 for the overnight stay except that you dont need to get out of bed. After the op I felt vey sleepy and was sick a little but that was due to the anesthetic (I think if I stayed in bed and not got up and got changed I wouldnt have been) xx

    Hey Gnats

The hotel was fine, the bedroom was clean (the shower looked amazing…was gutted I couldnt try it) it done the job and it was very close to the hospital…the only downfall was there was a load of speed bumps on route which wasnt much fun :-)

Wish Tesco paid for mine I checked in at 11 in the night and checked out 630..

    Good luck for Tues! xx

I stayed overnight and pleased I did, although I had a terrible night of sleep due to the nurse alarm buzzers I felt safe knowing that if I needed anyone then they were there.

I believe if you’re travelling you need to stay within 30 minutes of the hospital overnight so bear this in mind :) x
