Showering

So I’ll be two weeks post op Monday. I had to go back to the nurse again after my 1 week po check up because one of my incisions wasn’t healing well. I got the heads up to shower from today but I took a look at the incision that didn’t heal as well and it still looks fragile… was wondering if anyone had any advice on helping it heal… I really want a shower !!

What the? I didn’t know we wasn’t meant to shower ???? I’m dreading this as I’m a clean freak

@cgargano91 I know me too. I’ve been at my parents recovering and have been able to have daily shallow baths so it hasn’t been too bad, but now I’m back home and only have a shower. Usually they let you shower from the 1 week point x

@cgargano91 Dont panic! I was allowed to shower with my dressings on 48 hours after as long as they didn’t get soaked (so just had shallow baths before this!). After my dressings were removed I was fine to get incisions wet when showering (mine had healed well though). I’ve still got to wait until 4 weeks po until I can have a bath (17dpo now) xx

@poppyc if you’re worried could you maybe just pop a really loose wound dressing over it? You can get some big ones from Tesco. If not I’d have thought it’d still be ok for a quick shower but best to check! Xx
