Just wondering will i definitely be able to shower after 3 weeks? Just because that’s when I’ll move back to my student house and our bathtub is not the cleanest coz no one uses it at the moment there are empty beer cans in it :( .. Wondering if I should give it a scrub incase I’ll need it when I come back after Easter… Anyone any thoughts?

As long as you follow the rules to avoid infection or complications you should be fine; be as hygienic as possible and change your bra every day.

Ohh nooo, you live in halls? I feel sorry for you lol xx

I don’t live in halls anymore haha but I still live with 6 other people and it’s the three boys that seem to take their drinks to the bathroom and leave them there :s but that’s good I don’t want to clean it coz it’s not my mess haha I normally heal quite quickly so will follow your advice dolly :) to be extra careful! Xx

Make sure that when you bath you use johnsons baby oil bath oils and when you shower you use johnsons baby oil shower gels … this is the most safest thing to use its as gentle as water so wont irritate your scars xx

Arghh your brave! I’m so surprised how much I like living on my own, I’d go mad living with 6 other people lol x

Are you in first or second year? I think I’ll have to live on my own in my fourth year but looking forward to the peace ha living with just girls next year (3rd) which might be a disaster but we’ll see!

Amanda I assume I can just buy those from boots? I have a lot of prescribed washes for sensitive skin anyway so may not need to :) xx

I’m in my first year but I have my own place and I love it! It’s also good that I don’t have to find anywhere else as my parents own the flat…Yeah living with just girls could go either way! xx

aww i loved my halls in first year though, it was just party halls haha full of freshers, but not having the hassle of sorting places to live each year must be handy :) xx

I had my first shower yesterday (12 days po). I’d had enough of wipes and flannel washes to last me a lifetime but was scared about getting in the shower – such a relief to feel properly clean now though :-) I got my boyf to wipe the whole shower out with dettol antibacterial wipes and then even sprayed everything with dettol spray after and rinsed (bless him!!) I also bought a shower mat before the op as so worried about slipping. Used Johnson baby shampoo on hair as gentle and sanex zero on body. Didn’t wash too close to scars but I’m hoping the water trickling down gives them a bit of a clean. I made the mistake of gently cleaning with a savlon antiseptic wipe the other day and seemed to aggravate my scars. Carefully dried with the cool setting on my hair dryer after. So far so good!! :-)
