showering and bathing with no dressings advice

hey hunis need to have a shower and wash my hair dressings and steristrips are off what do you all recommend for keeping scar dry ?? im 2 weeks 5 days po x

i had my dressings removed at 7 days and was told i was fine to get them wet and take a normal bath so iv been bathing as normal since then, im 3wks post op now and had no probs xx

Ilovecali. If they get wet, pat dry each wound with a separate towel

to minimise risk of cross infection. Then use hair drier until dressing

have dried out. That way the wound isn’t wet for too long

bekkyb maybe its based on the individual and how well the incisions are healing, and ilovecali i was really worries too but honestly it was fine, felt bloody great havin a proper bath mine were disolvable stitches and felt fine when they were wet! you just need to make sure you dry them properly afterwards xx
