showering/bathing??? i am 3 weeks post op

Hi girlies,

I need some advice, im 3 weeks post op and im still unsure if i can have a proper shower/bath yet!

I saw the nurse the week after my op and she took the dressings of and put another type of plaster, think it was a steri strip on, and told me to leave them on for a further week?

do you think il be ok now?????

I dont fancy ringing the nurse, i feel a bit daft that i must of not been listening when she advised me???

I had the same thing , and i ended up having a proper bath at 10 days post op i didnt soak for ages though.and i made sure i rinsed underneath where the scars are with clean water before i got out. and made sure they was dried properly .

i also added sea salt to my bath which is great for healing and cleaning the scars.

i think it was about three days after that i took the tapes off, what a great feeling of freedom that was after stitches, dressings,steri strips and bra band !!!!

hey I got my bandages off yesterday and was told that I can have a bath next Tuesday to disolve the stitches. Only thing is i don’t have a bath in my flat. Do you think a shower will be ok or will the power of the water be too much??
