Showers post op?

Just seen the nurse for my 1 week check and she said no showers until 6 weeks PO?! Am I wrong or can I shower now? I cannot survive 6 weeks of shallow baths! Xx

Are you sure she didn’t say no baths for 6weeks? You can shower now just don’t rub or use anything on your incisions x

I was allowed to shower after 6days and bath after 6 weeks. Never heard anyone having to wait that long for a shower lol xx

Your allowed a shower after your week check up then she told me to take the plaster things off while I was in the shower then when I got out dab myself dry and put a clean fresh sports bra on and your allowed to shower like this up unroll your 6 weeks until your fully healed! No shampoo or body wash is allowed near your boobs! So I found it easier to wash my hair over then bath first with the shower head or over tap then put a towel on my head or what ever and then shower your body! But deffo no baths haha xxxx

Thankyou! I would be stinking if i had to wait 6 weeks for a shower haha! I’ve been doing the same lucky my hairs long or I don’t think I’d manage! She’s put fresh dressings on my incisions even tho I’m 9 days PO and she said they’re healing fine?! Xxx

I had to wait 2 weeks until I could shower, never heard of anyone being told 6 weeks! X

I hadn’t either! She said its incase the scabs become soft and fall off then I have to heal all over again.. Soon as my dressings have started to lift they’re coming off and I’ll be showering haha! Xxx

I showered after my week check up, she said I can use body wash with no perfumes in so I use sanex zero which she said was perfect I wash my hair normally in the shower just careful to rinse it down my back not my front 🙂 no baths for 6 weeks though. I must say it was probably the nicest shower ever after not having one for a week!! Ha enjoy x

I can imagine summer I’m so excited haha! I couldn’t even be bothered tonight so just had a shallow bath I did go for a sunbed tho even tho I was told 3 months off.. This op literally has turned my life upside down everything I used to do without even thinking is impossible now haha! Xx
