Sick Note and people finding out?

Hey everyone, I’m provisionally booked in to have my ba in July with Mr Traynor, I’m a student so this summer hol is my only chance for a year to get my breasts done. I work part-time as a waitress but am pretty much full time in the hols, I’ve already got 2 weeks off as I’m going on hol later this year. I’m pretty friendly with the bosses and all the staff but I don’t want anyone to know I’m having the op as only my family and boyfriend know. So I was just wondering what does the sick note MYA provide you with actually say? Am I better off getting one from my GP? Any replies will be reallllyyy appreciated:D Thanks girls x x x

I actually work for the NHS so i may be able to help you! Technically you can actually have up to a week off work without any sort of sicknote from your GP, its only after a week that you need one. I said to my work that i was having a minor operation and that was it because i work around doctor etc daily i didnt really wanna say i was getting my boobs done! xx

You’ll prob want more than a week off if your waitressing as I didn’t feel up to lifting things for a good 2 weeks!like emz says ur entitled to a week statutory sick leave, you could get a note from GP but they may write what you’ve had done on the note so you’ll have to ask them!xxx
