Hey girls!
I was talking to my manager about booking the week i need off work due to me having ‘an operation’ I didnt tell her i was having a BA! And she said i shouldn’t have to take it as annual leave and that the surgeon or my GP should sign me off work for the week!
Has anyone else had any luck with this??
I’m pretty sure you wouldnt get a GP to sign you off work for having any cosmetic surgery as its your choice to have the surgery. Unless you have been refereed by your GP?
my GP got me outta jury duty after my BA so im sure your GP will help u too!
i’ve been on here for a while now and this question has been on a few times. I have so far not heard of anyone that has managed to get a doctors note for the time off. You will be under going voluntary surgery so doctors wont usually sign you off.
Try your doctors because you never know, but just don’t get your hopes up.
I took two weeks annual leave after my op, when I went back to work occupational health at my place of work signed me off for a further 2 weeks, I then went to my GP to obtain a sick note verifying it and I had no probs xxx
the surgeob gives u a note. i would ring human resources and see what they say. they arr supposed to be confidential.xx
Hey I have spoken to my GP about me having surgery and wanting a note for time off, and he was willing to write the note for me. He even recommended that I take an extra week because I told him I do a lot of lifting. Not sure if that was him doing his job or just being extremely nice though lol x
hey my mum had a BA last year and her doctor signed her off so im sure you will be fine
x
I took 2 weeks off by telling work i was having an “op” lol and went to my gp the day before i went back to work and said i had had a BA 2 weeks before and would be returning to work and could she get me a certificate to cover me and advising i was fit to return to work x
She said it was fine.
If you ask your surgeon on the day of your surgery to provide you with a doctors note i think he will get you a letter to bring to your gp x OR ask at your pre op when you see the nurse and they can normally give you a letter that you can bring to your gp before you have your boobs done advising you will be having the procedure x
My doc said did work know why i’d been off and i said no so she said OK and put “Surgical procedure” on the note… I blagged with a story as to why i’d been off.. old sports injury that had been playing up and i was finally having it fixed! LoL
Just kept padding my bra for the weeks coming up to my BA so i didnt leave on the Friday flat and return 2 weeks later with 2 big hooters! LoL x
You could always call you docs (say you dont need an appointment just need some advise from a doctor) and ask if you can speak with a GP on the phone or get them to call you back and ask them if they will sign you off before the op or if you need to wait til after its done before you go to see them
Hope this helps x
