I know this sounds so stupid..

on a list i’ve read of what u need to take to the hospital it says take the post-op bra but when i went for my pre-op the nurse said i wont need to buy a macom/sports bra till the bandages are off because i asked her if i needed to bring one on the day of my op and she said no..i know this makes me sound thick but im confused :/

if your surgeon is going to be putting tape on you then this will provide enough support for the 1st week till the nurse removes the tape/ bandages. she will usually tell you to wear a bra after your week check up till your 6 week check, although when i went out i still put a bra on over the tape just so i felt a bit more covered up! xx

Just follow your nurses instructions honey, the list will be for general information but the nurse has tailored the service to you as an individual, with her instructions, xxx

Mr Singh will strap you up and he says you need to leave the strapping on for a minimum of 4 days buts preferably until your first week check with the nurse. I’m wearing my Macom aswell ( I’m 6 days post op and the nurse is taking the stealing off today ) and when I spoke to the nurse from MYA after my op as they call you the next day she said it will do no harm at all wearing both and will offer extra support but it’s all down to the individual and what they are comfatable in as some people find the tape really tight and some don’t.

I would take your Macom to the hospital with you and then you can decide after your op whether you are ok to with or without it x
