I hope someone can help me! I’ve had a really good recovery so far (I’m 4 days PO), but ever since the op, I’ve been having terrible nightmares and sleep paralysis! I never normally experience this, and I was just wondering if anyone else had a similar reaction? Could it be a reaction to the meds? I really aren’t sure and it’s causing me to wake up in tears every night! I don’t have trouble falling asleep or any pain…has anyone got any ideas as to why this may be happening?!

Hey Hun, I’ve not had it for a while but I used to get it quite a bit when my little ones were babies and I wasn’t getting enough sleep. Could it be that you’re not gettin enough deep sleep maybe? Poor u, it’s horrible isnt it. Hope it stops soon xx

i get this whenever i sleep on my back?! some people get it in certain positions, u also get it if ur really really tired and u lay down & fall asleep too quickly (which is prob why ur gettin it, nackerd from the op!) like ur body falls asleep but ur mind is workin overtime! so feels like ur awake but paralysed..

i was dreadin that part of after the op, luckily i only had it once.. i was tryin to nap on the sofa an thought i heard my mum upstairs i thought oh she must be home from work early..heard footsteps comin down the stairs n then a dark figure came in n was getin closer makin this horrible noise! i couldnt move or scream. then i woke up from it lol realised noone was even home!! its so freaky! x

Thanks so much for the advice, I think it must have been because I’ve been sleeping upright/on my back a lot. I had a quick nap this afternoon, managed to sleep on my side a little, and I slept really well! But yeah, it may be because I’m knackered too. I’ll try resting more, sure it’ll be fine :)

    Thanks again girls :)
