Sleeping Post-Op

Girleees, how long til you slept flat on your back (without extra pillows) or on your side? Tonight will be my 6th night post op and I’m dying to get a decent nights sleep

Awww hun. U findin it hard. I bought my v pillow 2day nd I have to say its pretty cozy. My turn on tuesday and the only thing im dreading is sleeping upright. what about sum sleeping tabs hun? Duno if that wud be a good idea or not x x

Honestly, the V-pillow is a god send!! Dunno what I’d do without it.. the first few nights you are so zonked from the anaesthetic that its easier to sleep, last night was better but still waking every few hours to adjust myself cos the sports bras resting on my incisions..ouchie!! Feel like I need a little break from my bra now so gonna whip the girls out for an hour …had better close the blinds, ha ha xx

3 days! I couldn’t sleep upright at all. Slept on my back with pillow and v pillow for a little elevation on third night and slept all the way through the night. Boobs didn’t hurt half as much in the morning either. Slept on my side second day for a couple hours and didn’t hurt at all! Xx

Right, one normal pillow and a v-pillow it is tonight!x

Oh, I unleashed the girls for a bra-break but had some shooting pains so have whipped them back in again… cant win lol

They are being naughty girls lol x

Really kezza?! I chucked my macom after 4 days. Caused me extreme pain and had nothing on for 24 hours whilst hunting for sports bra. The pain went almost immediately! Xx

Yeh the Macoms out, the asda sports bra is on now, found it soooo tight and uncomfortable, and I heard Mr K doesn’t like his patients to wear them either. I think it’s more that if I’ve disturbed them they’re tender but tbh, they’re better in the mornings… Naughty girls ha ha lol xx

oh, I slept 6 hours straight with just one pillow and my v pillow …heaven!x

Hi hun, I got mine off ebay but you can buy them from Argos, theyre about £10…I would have paid £50 for mine lol xx

I’m 7 days post now off to visit the nurse in Bristol in. a bit to have my first post check up and dressings removed xx

Im in a bad mood because I cant sleep!!! Im so uncomfy feel like iv got two lead balloons stuck on my chest weighing me down my shoulders are tight and my back and bum are cruicified!! But on the bright side i have boobs!!!

Aww Stacey I’m with you hun, its a killer!! Remember to relax those shoulders I took my last painkillers before bed, the first few nights, so that I slept for at least a few hours xx

Aw Stacey, know how you feel, how many days are you post op now? I felt like a hunch back for about 6 days and my shoulders ached like hell! Yesterday and today (day have been so much better, my cannon balls feel more like footballs lol. Still havn’t braved sleeping flat but I think I will tonight aided by a few vino’s . If I dont I think I’ll end up with pressure sores on my ass!!!! XX

Bonjour! I am 11 days PO and suffering from lack of sleep! I am past ratty and on the verge of maniac!

I havent had any pain after BA, only aches. For some reason I cannot get comfy. Im nervous about going on to my side, will it damage my scars?

Can I sleep bra-less??? Ive been wearing macom non stop and i love it! I have taken to letting the bad boys out for an hour in the evening but nervous about sleeping bare…

Any thoughts??

Ics3, I’ve been wondering the same, I’ve not worn anything in bed since I was about 8 but then I’ve not had wangers before either! I dont think going on your side will damage your scars but your boobies might feel a bit uncomfortable. I always sleep on my side but even moving slightly onto my side in bed and I get shooting pains like electric shocks going through my nips. I’ve started swapping into my sports bra during the day but strap them up in the macom for night as it does feel more comfortable. What advise did your surgeon/nurse give you? I was at the nurse yesterday and she echoed what the surgeon said, to keep my bra on day and night for 6-8 weeks!!! X

lcs3 I would keep your bra on at night, maybe get a regular sports bra for sleeping in? That will cover your dressings on the incisions and you should be ok to go bare other than that.

Buenaarrow, I get those electric shocks through my nips and lower boobs too, stop you in your tracks dont they?!! I’m keeping my sports bra on day and night, with an hours break in the evening at the mo..got my post-op check on Monday xx

Yeah Kezza the shocks really do stop you in your tracks, ouch, ouch, ouch!!! Last night was better though and they are not being shocked every time I move in bed now but you cant help but brace youself for it! Is that you 7 days po on Monday? X

Ill keep to the macom then, I did try an asda sports bra but i felt like it was pushing my boobies wide apart, it was not nice! Love my macom!

Ill try moving onto my side and see what happens. Its sleeping in the same position on my back all night is what i find uncomfortable, my ass and back ache coz I cant move into a different position. This is going to sound mega random now.. i have a sore left heel from sleeping in the same position all night.. its like a bed sore! haha! x

Rub some cream into your heal to stimulate your blood circulation, the things we put ourselves through!!

I was the same when I first put my sports bra on but I’m used to it now. I felt like my macom was pushing mine to much together!!

Indeed! I didn sign up for heel sores! haha!

I think ill try some other sports bras as the macom comes too high for some of my work clothes. Need to invest in some really. My macom is alreay like a security blanket, im going to have to ween myself off it! x

Mine too, Mr K has said to some patients that the macoms ruin his work so Ive gone to a normal sports bra just in case. Yeh I’ll be 8 days post-op on Monday, just keen for them to drop down now, feel like they’re up in my armpits !!!

Sorry to hear about your heal lcs3, yeh try some cream and maybe a loose sock over it to stop it rubbing against the sheets xx

The drop is what I’m looking forward to as well. My left one has come down a bit but my right is still really quite high. Day one I felt like they were going to burst out the top of my chest! X

Yeh, its a totally wierd sensation!! My boobs were wonky to start with and Mr K felt he could correct it without using different sized implants.. bloody hope so cos at the moment its more obvious lol xx

Lcs3, had EXACTLY the same with my left heal for the 3 nights I slept upright! I started to tuck my left leg under my right knee to stop from putting pressure on it!

In other news: all went well at nurse appointment! Boobs were still vibrating from drive up the m5 in a frikkin drift car at 120mph (running late) but nurse was happy with was she saw. Scars look so good and cannot believe how small mr Fallahdar’s incisions are!!!!!!! No need to cover the scars again as they had completely closed and were dry.

Mentioned that I’d been naughty with my sleeping and she was fine with it and said if it made me and boobs feel comfyer then there was no problem. Xxx
