I wasn’t given much aftercare advice when I left the hospital but I read on forums that you have to sleep on an incline to reduce swelling etc which I have been doing but last night I slid down a bit and found it almost impossible to get back up again. Do any of you have tips for getting up and sitting up easier?

It’s awful isn’t it. Iv been staying with my parents so iv been shouting for them when I need help moving up the bed. Another thing I started doing was sleeping with a pillow under my knees which I found made it less likely to slide down the bed xx

It’s so difficult 😐 My other half is in the army in a different country so we only see him every few months so I don’t have any help either. At least your little ones can sort of help out Laura xx

I popped a pillow under my bum and took the pillowcase off it so it doesnt slide away and then propped myself with my v pillow and other pillows so i was always upright, its hard work but atleast you can get up, i always sleep at the end of the bed too so i can swing my leg on the floor for extra support, i got stuck on my first night and that scared me lol! X

That’s the point though she’s not helping, she wouldn’t even get up this morning to help me get the cereal out of the cupboard so I could get my little lad some breakfast. xx

Aww that must be horrible and really feel for you, if shes not going to help id atleast ask her to move everything you will need to counter level for easy reach for you! Stay away from tomato soup tho lol, my boyfriend had put my daughters dinner in the microwave for me a few days after and i ended up dropping the whole tin all over my new carpet :/ Was not my finest hour lol!! But try and rest as much as you can but i know it must be so hard :/ xxx

I was a mess its funny now looking back, but i was on my hands and knees crying and i couldnt really scrub because it was hurting, had to ring my mum come and help lol!! But next time someones round just ask them to move the things you use the most down for you, i found it so much easier to look after the kids, i also had a pile of the kids clothes instead of hanging them up so i didnt need to stretch up or bend down in the drawers, its a pain as the house isnt as it normally is but it helps soo much xx
