Well I have struggled with my v pillow for a week now, every night I sleep as upright as I can and every couple of hours I’m awake and lying flat, and doing the bum shuffle to get me up again. I’m a week post op now, but only took my tape off on Sunday, can’t tell if I’m swollen at all, although my boobs really ache! Do you think I can start laying flat now? I’m desperate for a good nights sleep and my back can’t take much more of the mountain of pillows on my bed either!

Also, is it true you have to sleep on your back for 6 wks? It it wasn’t mentioned to me by MYA but I saw it on another BA website

Thanks hon, I think I’d cry if I rolled onto my front, am still getting a lot of pain and the bra feels so tight as well that I have extra pressure right across them! I’m sure it’s prob normal but it’s going my head in! If I can get a good nights sleep that’s 8 hrs of no pain!!!

I’m 12 days post op today and still sleeping with my v pillow mine is memory foam one and I love it I took it away last night and it felt weird to be so flat so I put it back I think it’s cause normally my boyfriend takes up all the bed and I get pushed to the edge but with v pillow he can’t it’s like a barrier so I actually get a better sleep .. And as fit macon bra I love it but don’t like sleeping in it it’s like sleeping with socks on in the morning I have to undo it and get my boobies some air they feel suffercated :)

I think you’re right, I may need to get another Macom, the underneath usually is a 34 but at the mo measures as a 36, so although they say get your normal size it’s absolutely killing me, once the dressings are taken off I’m worried the bra is going to rub them

I heard you should get the next back size up to allow for swelling, I did and I love my Macom, it’s comfy morning, noon and night! Have to say the sleeping upright is killing me. Was fine for the first 4 nights, night 5 wasn’t very comfortable and by last night my back was killin me, couldn’t sleep at all and when I did I kept waking up! Then I woke up nearly flat after sliding down so much and wow how much did my boobies hurt?! Debating sleeping on the recliner tonight for some extra back support xx

nicdev try putting a pillow under your legs between your knees and your bum, I still slip down but not as far doing this. The first couple of nights were the worst til you can work out a way of getting all the pillows to a manageable height x

Hi Hun, I normally sleep on my side all cuddled up to the duvet so I struggled with the whole sleeping on back thing!! I did it with 2 pillows then the v-pillow for the first week, then gradually started getting lower and lower. I still need the v-pillow even tho Im almost 4 weeks but think this feels like my security blanket! I have tried to sleep on my side but still can’t! I think it’s just one of those things you can do when you’re ready! My nurse told me to sleep propped up for a week because it helps with the swelling but after that whatever Im comfortable doing. xxx

First night for me. I’m sleeping on the arm chair wedged in with my v pillow. Didn’t sleep great but felt safe and upright. Don’t know when I will venture in the bedrooms I am scared my partner may nudge me in the night as he usually does lol. X

No ache more with no bra. They don’t ache all the time, depends on sleeping position really n isuppose the size on your boobs. Xxx
