I wanted some advice i’m really struggling with sleeping upright, it’s been 5days since my ba and my bumb and my back are acheing so much, i hate it when its bed time as i really struggle to get comfy and it takes me sooo long to fall asleep. I have loads of pillows including a v-pilow and even padding for my bumb but its still so god damn uncomfy and its really affecting my sleep 😯 does anyone know how much longer i have to sleep like this for?

    Hi Angel

I started sleeping half on my back and half on my side after about 6 days, i used pillows to get my position rigth and it really did help. I just tilted enough to get off one of my bum cheeks and put another pillow under the breast that i was half leaning on to take the weight, and i would alternate the sides each night. To ease it do as much walking as you can during the day to stay off yoru bum, by the time night comes you wont be as sore

    hi angel9,

I sympathise completely, that first week i didnt get much sleep at all.

after my 7 day check up the nurse said i could lay down, but not completely flat.

in the first week i used four pilows in a v shape and pulled two really low down and tucked under my back it was quite comfy.

And walking is realy good, helps the blood supply and healing process.

You will feel better after your 7 day check , as you have your dressings off and can lay down.

    Happy healing.

    Hiya….

I didn’t do very well at sleeping upright at all…. I used to go to bed and fall asleep upright but then would wake up half way down the bed…. it is painful when u first get up if you do lie down flat all night though…. After about 7 days I just started sleeping normally…. I am 4 weeks post op now and can just about lie on my front…. It does get better girls…. just think of the end result and it’s all worth it…. thankfully I haven’t had any problems at all since my ba and was only in pain for one day after my op….

Angel, I read yr story… hope your recovery goes ok – Dr Falladhar did my op too, thought he was an excellent surgeon. xx

Hey christy thanks :-) yes my post op appointment with my pc and nurse was 1 week after my ba. I was told i could sleep as i like but i think the fetal position would be too painful as it still hurts if i knock my boobs or lean on them lol. thanks, love Angel xxxxxxx

hey christy, that’s not a prob. the neck pain, back pain n bumb pains awful lol and i totally understand, i lay just on my back stil, i don’t lean on my boobs- as it kills to lol. it’s actually well comfy once i have my pillows sorted- right amount wedged behind me, with my v-pillow it just means i’m not to low down wen i want to get up. The things we have to do lol :D

    love Angel xx
